  • My name is Bobby and I'm theletterisb. Now what is theletterisb all about? I've created this channel with the intention of creating the very best video editing tutorial platform on UA-cam. I'm sick and tired of all these boring, not straight to the point and way too long editing tutorials that we have to click through, just so we can get a little bit of educational value out of it.
    For this reason I decided to do it the right way. Create short, exciting tutorials, teaching you the very best techniques to create professional video content.
    But wait there is even more to talk about! This channel has evolved into so much more than just editing tutorials. At some point within my career I decided that I would like to use my acquired skills as a teacher, and share all my knowledge as a consultant when it comes to filmmaking, video editing, productivity.
    With this vision in mind and I'm planning to release a lot of exciting content in the future. I'm Bobby and I'm theletterisb.

      Not really because the main impact of the transition still happens at the point where you synced the effect to the music.

    I can’t believe I’ve been watching Vegas videos for the last year and FINALLY now I found your channel that knows how to TEACH it correctly and beautifully. My one questions is what is the best frame rate in camera to use while recording so that your speed ramps look the best in post-30-60-120-240? Thanks for the vid wishing you 100k+ subs. 💯👍🙌

    • @theletterisb

      Hey there, I'm really happy that my videos are that useful to you and I'm so glad for all the kind words. I also appreciate that you took that time of your day to write this cool comment. People always say they appreciate the support but I truly mean it! Without comments like yours I wouldn't know if my video was good or not. And only with feedback I can improve in the future. So, once again thanks a lot. Now, regarding your question, I would shoot anything that won't be slowed down at 24 fps for a cinematic look. If you plan to slow down something you can go up to 60 as well as 120 fps if your camera is capable of. You won't see any big difference between framerates while speed ramping because it depends on your shutterspeed how smooth your footage will look like. The right shutterspeed will allow you to create the most natural motion blur, and this will give you the illusion of the footage looking even smoother. The rule of thumb is to go always x2 then your fps. So if you shoot with 60 fps your shutterspeed needs to be at least 120 or 125 depending on the setting on your camera available. Last but not least I would be als super happy to see more comments from you coming in the future because I planned to do some pretty cool videos this year that might be interesting to you as well. Have a great day and a great start into the new year!

      Because you are using a older version. The only work-around you have is to set the speed to 300%, render the clip and import it back to VEGAS Pro so you can add a additional 300% and so on. The only downside is that the quality of your footage will drop slightly if each re-render.

    • @theletterisb
      @theletterisb  5 років тому +3

      Because you have to set another velocity point at the position where the speed ramp should stop so the video will go back to normal. And if don't want the speed ramp to stop for this part of the clip you gotta slow down the speed ramp until you won't see your clip replaying.

      Yes, everything below 0 will start to reverse the video. you can only play with slow motion to 1% even though this looks really bad. I would only suggest to go at max to 15-25% if you have some really high fps footage.

    Is this better than twixtor? I have heard some people even combine twixtor and velocity. I have usually edit with 30fps anime clips. if you can recommend me which method i use(for e.g. velocity, twixtor, both) it would be really helpful :))

    • @NABSTERZ
      @NABSTERZ 4 роки тому +1

      Twixtor allows for a smooth slow motion by creating frames that were not there in the first place. This can sometimes create a weird warping effect, which is why you should use velocity first. However if you find it to be choppy because of the low frame rate when using velocity, then using twixtor is definitely more viable, but I wouldn’t use it unless I had to. Hope that helps!

      I know exactly what you are talking about. Unfortunately this is not a problem of your computer. You have plenty of RAM and your processor is also just fine! The problem is the not perfect optimization of VEGAS Pro. It simply doesn't run that well anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love VEGAS and I remember using Sony Vegas 7 back in the days, where you could literally create the biggest timeline and face no crashes or lags at all. Unfortunately this has changed over the time with the newer versions of VEGAS Pro. I would love to do some more VEGAS Pro tutorials in the future but I will also start using Premiere Pro a lot more and create content for it as well, simply because it runs a lot more stable.
