I have one on a engine i installed on my kids midget. Briggs world formula block milled head, stroker kit , running an 28f 418 flat slide on methanol pilot jet 58 main 450. The issue im having is with the idle screw turned out to zero input and the idle jet screw zeroed my engine still idles at 3000-3150 rpms. Im not sure what to do. Im guessing i need to go up on the pilot jet to maybe 65ish+- to richen it up and hopefully slow down the rpm(slow the burning) But could adjusting the slide needle change this too? Any help / advice is much appreciated 🙏
Yes, the screw on the side of the slide bore adjusts idle. If that doesn't work, double check your throttle linkage has play. If all checks out proper, look for air leaks
@@NorcalKarters I had the function of the choke backwards🤦🤣🤣 I thought down was no choke. Up is no choke. Adjusted the idle screw and wham idles 2100rpm and is snappy. Took it out last weekend and it's a screamer!
Thanks for the great vid. BTW, I had my RD 400 bored and heads ported. Flatslides with pod filters and chambers. Now the motor won't pull higher rpms. What all would you change on the carbs?
It's not a two stroke thing, its using a gravity feed carburetor on a fuel pump system on an engine application that was not factory. In hindsight, the karting industry should have adapted carburetors that had changeable Needle and Seat valves and better fuel pumps with pressure set ups or shut offs.
If you have a bike application, this is not the right set up for your engine. This an adaptation for karting since we used mx engines and carbon karts. If your carb is shot, replace it.
Hi! I'm Alex Kharchuk from Ukraine. Tell me, please, does this system with scavenger tube and foam without float will work on pit bike in supermoto racing, when we deal with cornerings of carb? Which advantages it can give?
@@NorcalKarters not yet, but I am looking for the ways to improve and get max performance. That's why I started to look for another carby's and that's how I found your video. Engine is 4t 190cc 62*62mm, stock carb is PE type, I have used PWK 28mm type but thinking about FCR 28 or 33 cuz it has acceleration pump, which is must have on 4t engines
@@АлександрХарчук-т1д I don't think this would be the right route for you. This was adapted in karting because the rules didn't allow us to use different type of carbs.
Cheer dude helped me a ton
Glad it was helpful

Thanks brother👍
Did the video help you out?
@@NorcalKarters yup.. because the Mikuni TM is a old carburator and now hard to search video about Mikuni TM.. And i find your video..

I'd contact the shop that did the porting. Sometimes if you go big bore, you lose top rpms because your trading off for torque at the lower rpms.
What is benefit of return fuel system? Is this a 2 stroke thing?

thanks for the perfect video. I have honda xl185 with un repairable carb. So does this works with my xl ? What do you think?

Do you have carb issues with supermoto?

Keihin masterrace
Mine has just a spring and the needle and a gasket
For the idle screw my air screw is the same but has a washer
You may need to find the diagram for your exact model or version. This one is off the RM85 OE spec engine
@@NorcalKarters I did actually, ty finished it yesterday from a full rebuild kit from shindy. No complaints here 👌
