Every carrier has its own different characteristics, so you need to know your own ship well. I recommend that you go on the fandom page and try to look up for some tips and tricks on your ships, since I'm not quite an expert.
@@K.I.A22 For destroyers, there are many types for you to command in the game, ranging from gunboats to torpedo boats, or utility boats. Each category employs different tactics. As an example, for gunboats like Leningrad or Karl Galster, they have a ludicrous reload rate of 2 seconds with the addition of flags. The general tactic would be to rain down enemies constantly with HE shells and set ships on fire. The common reaction from players would be to put out the fire at once, but then they won't be able to use the extinguisher for the next 1 minute. Keep firing until you set them on fire. This time, they won't be able to put it out and you'll make then suffer with the fire on board. After this, switch to AP shells for more damage. By that time, you'll surely be in 2 km of the enemy. Keep charging on bow on until you unleash a full salvo of torpedoes in 1km of the enemy. For utility boats like Melvin or Fletcher, you could either play defensive escorting allies, or offensive attacking enemies that are distracted by your teammates. They could add to firepower with decent main battery damage for destroyers, or give AA reinforcements. Utility boats normally do not restrict your play style, and are versatile in any case. They could however be a bane to lone carriers due to their manueverability and high main gun damage compared to gunboats. Do not be too reliant on your torpedoes since carriers can be highly maneuverable. Torpedo boats such as Shimakaze, Yukikaze or Mahan are advised to sneak up on enemies (since most of the ships they encounter are high tier damaging battleships), and grab the chance to release all torpedoes at once. By doing this, you will surely be causing a lot of distraction to the enemy and could draw a lot of fire. This is where the high maneuverability of the torpedo boats can be of use. With speeds of fairly over 45 knots when maxed, you will be a hard target to hit if you add some zig-zag movements. Enemies would surely be desperate to dodge your torpedoes. Although they might get lucky sometimes, they would have placed themselves in a dangerous situation by exposing their broadside to your teammates, giving them a chance to clean them up. These are the general tactics for destroyer players, but don't force yourself to suit it, since there is no style that can confirm a victory. Remember, experience is the thing that matters. I'm not a great destroyer player, but I do own a few of these small assassins.
