What makeup have you changed up in your routine? Let's chat in the comments. By the way, I wanted to tell you iHerb is having 20% sitewide for the next couple of days. You can use code 20FRESH25. I linked to my favorite affordable eyeshadow: howl.link/53piugh277ckp Thank you for using my link!
Hi Laura, I use Sephora liquid eyeliner. It's only $12 unless on sale. I'm 62 and a few years ago I started using liquid eyeliners since it doesn't pull on eyelid. I love the Sephora one I'm using and it comes in different colors. Maybe do a review of it on your channel? Happy New Year by the way
I let go of wet n wild eyeshadows and foundation. They just didn't do it for me. I am sticking with Revlon, Maybelline, and Covergirl products! Blessings!
I gave up full coverage foundation. At some point in my 50's, my skin really needed more moisture and full coverage foundation just looks way too cakey on my face. I also won't wear very rich colored lipsticks. I'll admit to missing those but they just make me look so much older. I will sometimes put just a small touch of a rich, deep color in just the center of my lips, but I can't wear a full lip of any really rich, deep color anymore.
It is so challenging to give up shades we have always enjoyed. I have found using a very thin balm in a deeper shade is an option. I love how you have found a way to wear the shade you love! xoxo
I’m 66, and I just discovered Colour Pop super shock eyeshadows! They are so fun! Thank You for all You Do & Are Laura! Happy New Year to You & Your Family🙂
Hi Laura Ray, l don't know why people keep saying that for about powder, it depends on the powder, and how much you are using, the only powder I use are Huda pink powder, and actually when I use it, it makes my face look flawless after l am done putting on my makeup, hugsssss ❤❤❤
It’s true, powder can be tricky! I agree you have to find the right one and the right amount! Now I want to try the Huda. I have looked at it several times...I am going to order it now. Thank you for sharing this. xoxo
Hi Laura I have given up using powder blush. I'm extremely dry skinned with rosacea and eczema so cream or liquid blush looks so good on my skin and modern formulas have longevity that they didn't in the past. Blind buying anything online is difficult and I am done with it. I'm ultra cool toned and extremely pale so everything turns peachy or orange on me. Trying it on in person gives me a much better idea if the shade will be good on me. Happy New year and best wishes x
It sounds like you have found what works best for you and that is wonderful! My daughter has a very light complexion so I can understand how difficult it can be when selecting shades. Happy New Year! xoxo
I am 60, and an Aesthetician, the Revlon Illuminance Foundation is so pretty and I always get compliments when I wear this. I will stock up just in case they discontinue it.
I bought Stone Cold Fox last Christmas ( it was on sale and I didn’t know) but it is a perfect cool neutral palette. So good for older gals and has even some fun shimmer pops
I love the fiera concealer for both under eyes and foundation. You only need a tiny bit and warm it between your fingers dot around your face and blend. You'd think it would be heavy but it sheers out a lovely coverage 😊
I love that concealer! I’ve shown it a few times on the channel. You are so right! It seems like it would be thick, but it cheers out beautifully. So happy you are enjoying it too.❤️
Really enjoyed this video & I also have let go of heavy foundation. Just doesn’t work on my 73 year old skin. Happy New Year to you & your sweet family!! 🎉🎉
I enjoy cream products as I get older & like skin tints and light weight foundations. My #1 eyeliner is Urban Decay 24/7. It's the only one I have found that absolutely doesn't budge or irritate my eyes. I am also careful with makeup with fragrance. There is nothing worse than spending time doing your makeup then your nose runs until you remove the fragrances product. Christmas is over & I don't want to look like Rudolph!
I'm so glad you found a liner that works! I also am a big fan of the Urban Decay liners. I love all of the unique shades that they have that are not available from other brands. xoxo
Laura, your skin looks dewy & amazing. Makes me want to try the Milani stick now! I have problems with foundation getting patchy on my dry older (78) skin, even though it’s very hydrated from my skin care. Thanks for the great tips!❤
I love a problem solving video, thanks Laura! Would you consider doing a video on your skincare routine? Also videos on your diet and/ or supplement routine? Thanks!
Have you also tried Lisa Eldridge’s eye pencils? I have Lisa’s and Victoria’s eye pencils and they are just about identical in glide on texture, beautiful 🥰💜
Good afternoon, Laura Rae. So happy you wwre pleased with the VB eyeliner. I never thought I'd spend that much on an eyeliner, but I'm happy I did. The CG option sounds really good. I've used Superhero Mascara since it came out, and don't plan to quit. QVC has specials that is so discounted the cost is less than drugstore brands. I still like, and use powder too. Blessings, love, and happy New Year, my beautiful friend...MaryEllen
I have never paid that much for a liner either MaryEllen. What surprised me was how beautifully it was packaged. It arrived with the bag and a sharpener. Everything felt so thoughtful like a gift. I am planning on sending one to my daughter. Thank you for recommending it. Once I heard you and Melissa rave about it, I knew it had to be great! Wishing you a blessed and happy 2025 filled with good health and happiness for you and your family! Love you!
I love for foundation the Wet and Wild Photofocus Dewy and the ELF Soft Glam. My skin never looks dry or thick. I use a brush then finish up with a sponge.
I’m not sure if Tarte has changed their formulas, but their eyeshadows are patchy with a lot of fallout. I love the Essence Lash Without Limits mascara. Love the Catrice duo blushes, too. More of these videos, please.
Laura Rae thank you for the best videos everything I have ever ordered this year has been great . cannot wait to see 2025 best affordable beauty happy new year 🎉s
I’m older than you-and so I quit using powder, believing it would be too dry and patchy on my skin. Well, I’ve gone back to powder, and I believe I look better with it. I use a very light application of the Laura Mercier loose setting powder. Mini sizes are available. Thanks for this helpful video. Happy New Year!
I agree about eyeshadows…at my age of 69 it’s not something I need. Lighter foundation is also a good thing at this point. I don’t even do any eyeliner anymore unless I am going to an event. I love your look in the video. Thanks for this video. Happy New Year🎉
Thank you Laura i love all your videos,,and love the great tried and trusted products you show us..Happy New Year Laura to you and your Family,,keep well keep smiling you are a lovely person,💖💖💖🎇🎊🕯️🙏
Hi Laura Ray, l love all the new Maybelline lifter liners, l picked up 4 of them yesterday, loving all the shades, and l also picked up 2 new Maybelline lifter glosses, l have other shades, but l needed to get some new shades of them, hugsssss ❤❤❤
So many nice makeup items to choose from! Your skin and makeup looks flawless in this video! I would love it if you could find some Rimmel makeup that would work for mature skin! I used to wear it a lot. Thank you for trying so many out for us! ❤❤❤
That’s a shame you don’t like the Rimmel foundation anymore. I’m 60 and I love it. I have used the Revlon Colourstay foundation for about 30 years, but when I heard Emily Noel recommend the Rimmel about a year ago, I decided to try it. It feels lighter than the Revlon.
I don't understand why they put fragrance in a blush, or frankly any makeup. I thought I was the last person to get the Stone Cold Fox, but turns out someone else waited! I love it. I don't really need most of the expensive pallets that have been released. I'm actually going to try a no buy 2025, except for repurchasing things like mascara. I won't be trying the It mascara, although it does look impressive on you.
I am also finding the eye shadow application you mentioned a method that is working for me too. I love that you give alternatives to high end. Thank you and happy new year
I love all your recommendations, Laura. I will turn 62 on February 7th, and I have to be more careful about what I wear, now that I am over 60. Happy New Year! ❤
Great video Laura!!! I have had to give up ELDW but have been able to replace it with the It CC cream and have not looked back! I think you are right we need some skin care ingredients in our foundations especially. It never disappoints me and I just love the finish I get from it. I also use their bye bye pores pressed powder and that never makes me look older . I am 58 and so happy I found what really works for me!
Laura Rae, you are a stone cold fox in all the makeup! 😀 I just let go of the Missha BB cream that looks gray on my fair, cool, rosacea prone skin. Definitely it a good look. Happy New Year!
Have you tried the It Cosmetics CC+ Cream? They have come out with some new shades. I am in the shade light-medium. The CC+ Cream really warms up my skin. I just bought the glow formula to try. xoxo
I'm 59 with oily skin AND wrinkles lol. Lifetime outside daily. It's hard to find products for mature skin that's oily as many are geared to younger set. All of the mascaras I used to love seem to raccoon me these days and seem more difficult to remove now. I use the elf xtender and love it. Easy to remove and no raccoon. I seldom use foundations anymore, just tinted sunscreen or regular I tint myself. Love the Korean sunscreens. When I do foundation, catrice HD or Laura Geller. I'm still searching for that elusive concealer that both covers blemishes and hyperpigmentation well and stays on. I also cannot wear tight line eye pencils anymore due to eye irritation. I have lupus and eyes get inflamed easily. A good tip I learned is putting a dab of color in inner corners that's opposite eye color on color wheel to make those peepers pop. I also learned above using eyelid primer to cover discoloration. Thanks Laura Rae ❤ I'm also trying to be more mindful of all of the chemicals in makeup and purchase limited ingredient and/or more natural. Our skin is the largest organ in bodies and is a direct conduit to internal organs.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I am so glad you are enjoying tubing mascara. It has been a game changer for my deep-set eyes. Mascara mess is a problem for me too. Have you tried the concealer from It Cosmetics? It is very full coverage. When my skin is oily, I have found that setting spray is also very helpful. xoxo
Hey girl! How do you feel about Laura Geller Powder Foundations? I have some of it,and everyone raves about, but im not super impressed with it. I am 64. Thank you.
I did not like it on its own. However, over my tinted sunscreen it worked beautifully. I also like it on top of thinner serum foundations. Hope this is helpful. xoxo
I think it is wonderful that you are aware of what you are not using. I am also looking for products in my collection that are just sitting there. Happy 2025! xoxo
Off topic but do yall like sunscreen in products like foundation, primer, etc.? Or do not and it's twofold reasoning: I think it's an unneeded possible irritant and encourages people to think they're protected without using regular sunscreen. 2 fingers of foundation would be way too much lol.

It is such a beautiful foundation. I talked about it when it was first released. You have inspired me to get it out and use it this week. xoxo
@LauraRaeBeauty That's wonderful!
I bought Stone Cold Fox last Christmas ( it was on sale and I didn’t know) but it is a perfect cool neutral palette. So good for older gals and has even some fun shimmer pops

I regularly go through my makeup and have a good clear out, there's no point hanging on to things that you don't like or don't work for you ❤
I totally agree!❤️❤️
I love the silicone blender you suggested a few weeks ago. Thank you.
You are so welcome! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it!❤️❤️
What blender??
@ The Revlon Jelly tool. I have it linked in the description of this video. I have three of them now. ❤️
Thank you... Just ordered
Your make-up colors are beautiful on you today!!!

Your skin looks nice and more youthful!
That is so sweet of you to say! 💕
I have the Milani Conceale+Perfect Cream to Powder compact, and it's really nice, too. I like it in warmer weather.
Thank you for sharing your favorite makeup with us. xoxo

Want to try the Milani stick. The LYS is dewy I can’t wear it doing the summer
Hope you love it! xoxo
Excellent advice and products, Laura! Thank you, from all of us mature ladies❣️
I'm so glad this video was helpful! Happy 2025!❤❤
I'm almost 60 and I find GOOD powder with a BRUSH works wonderfully on me!! HUDA BEAUTY POWDER IS WORTH IT!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your favorite powder! ❤️❤️

TFS. Happy New Year 🎊. Take care
Happy New Year to you too! Wishing you an amazing year.❤️
I always love your videos Laura! I've given up on powder blush. A cream, or liquid, applied with a sponge, is the only way to go after 50.
I think it is wonderful you have found blush that you love! xoxo

I'm only 45 but my eyelids are so much drier so I've been mostly sticking to cream and liquid eyeshadows. My favorites are from Kiko Milano
I'm so glad to hear you're finding success with cream and liquid eyeshadows! 😊xoxo
Hope this is helpful. xoxo
Happy New Year Laura!!
Happy New Year to you too! Wishing you a wonderful year. ❤️
I’m trying to let go of blue, green, teal, and purple eyeliners. I NEVER use them, literally.
I think it is wonderful that you are aware of what you are not using. I am also looking for products in my collection that are just sitting there. Happy 2025! xoxo
I discovered Lisa Eldridge Seamless Glide Eye Pencil, which sounds a lot like the Victoria Beckham eye liner.
I just did the same and ordered the Victoria Beckham eyeliner in Bronze and it is the best eyeliner I’ve used. I’m 60 I will be getting more colors.
That sounds like a beautiful shade!❤️❤️
🎉Happy New Year 🎉
Happy New Year to you too! 🎉xoxo
I have combination skin with a OILY T-ZONE!!!
❤❤❤😊
No more dark shadows on invisible lids!!
I don’t like how the lifter liners sharpen😢
Thank you for sharing your experience! xoxo
Not a fan of Laura Mercier. Wishing all a Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉
Happy New Year! xoxo
Off topic but do yall like sunscreen in products like foundation, primer, etc.?
Or do not and it's twofold reasoning: I think it's an unneeded possible irritant and encourages people to think they're protected without using regular sunscreen.
2 fingers of foundation would be way too much lol.
I prefer for companies to leave out the sunscreen and I just apply my own. I am very allergic to chemical sunscreens, so some makeup has left me with a red rash. It seems that I am not the only one. Over the years, I have read so many comments from people having the same reaction. xoxo
