I'm not sure I'd call Saki the founder, although she is the main composer and song-writer. Some interviews I've seen have indicated that the band was originally conceived to be Mayu's solo project, with Saki, Hazuki, Hara-chan, and Tamu serving as her backing band, but later decided to become a full band because they gelled so well together. If that is true, then Mayu would technically be the founder.
@@garykeeling2275 Hi Gary! Please forgive my inaccuracies. I've had to rely on Google Translate to understand about the band members. Inspion is a sound and music corporation in Japan. Tamu was one of many musicians working for the corporation. I read a translation of one of Mayu's interviews of how the band started, but I have serious doubts on the accuracy. Saki and Tamu have worked together on occasion, prior to Nemophila. Saki in the past, has worked with Li-SA-X as Hazuki still does. It's pretty obvious the majority of these ladies crossed paths well before the inception of Nemophila. They all wanted to support Mayu after the break up of Lipstick. They picked Nemophila as their name because the flower has 5 equal pedals. That was to say that they were all equal.
They are described as a supergroup, because the members came from other bands that were known at the time they came together. However, most of those other groups are no longer active, now that Mary's Blood shut down, so all of the members are now fully focused on Nemophila. Singer Mayu was previously with Lipstick; lead guitarist Saki was previously with Mary's Blood (she still has a side project called Amahiru, but Nemophila is her main band now); lead guitarist Hazuki was previously with Disqualia, and occasionally collaborates with Li-sa-X Band; bassist Haraguchi-san was previously with Holdershins; and drummer Tamu is an in-demand session drummer and former member of Soramimi. By the way, Nemophila is pronounced "neh-mo-FEE-la" (although, a bit confusingly, the flower they are named after is pronounced "neh-MOFF-il-uh") An Oiran is a high-ranking courtesan or prostitute, though I'm not quite sure how the song relates to the classical meaning of the word.
