    Summary:
Not being able to complete an engagement process after trying many times, hearing it was due to black magic or desiring evil for her family?
    --truly seek refuge in Allah
--and that you do not continue to let yourself go in the fear of magic or any harm from other people
--and that you be absolutely certain that these are mere means or apparent causes, that are beneath the compelling power of Allah who is al-Qahhar
--Allah said about black magicians, that they are not harming anyone without Allah's permission, and the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasalam said, Surah al-Baqara cannot be overcome by the jinn that are used for this type of black magic. So for instance if a family were to read this surah in a room for 3 days, if all of those who did black magic in the world were to come together, they would not be able to enter this home or harm this person who has read this surah.
So you should exchanged fear of black magic for a beneficial fear, the fear of Allah. And rather than constantly fearing this, and having an evil opinion, you should read the last 2 surahs much.
And read much this verse: "Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilaya min khayrin faqir - Lord indeed I am in need of good." Recite 100-300 times in each 24 hours. quran.com/28/24
And also, repeatedly make the salat of hajah. 2 rakahs for Allah, and pray, Allahumma inni asaluka wa atawijhu alayk, min nabbiyuka Muhammad Nabbi rahma (mention her need) - Oh Allah, I ask you and direct myself to you, with your Prophet Muhammad, the Prophet of Mercy. Ya Muhammadu inni atawajahu bika illallah, fi hajati hadhihi li-tughda, allahumma fashif-feh fiya - "Oh Muhammad indeed I direct myself with you to Allah in this need of mine to be fulfilled. Oh Allah so grant him to intercede on my behalf." Imam Tirmidhi sahih hadith mentions this hadith to a blind man and he said it and was able to see. And its also mentioned in one transmission, "if you have any need, do like this."
