By far this is the best following tips video I’ve seen! So many videos are about knowing the steps and basically being able to lead yourself which is not being a good follower…!

You are a gifted teacher. It’s so much more fun when my partner holds her frame and relaxes. I have danced with women who are doing all of these five things together. It’s so frustrating😮.

Thank you so much for this video. Great topic again. For years, I had convinced myself I was not able to follow because I liked to do my own things and so on.... until I started my partner dance journey. It's been a struggle and a fight against my brain as my instructor use to say... and it's getting better with time and practice hopefully... but I totally agree a big part of it is psychological. Also I feel like undergoing a therapy evolving in this process of accepting the unknown, trying not to anticipate, trusting your leader, and so on. I'm happy to see I'm not the only one 😅 Also I'd like to know your take on: is it more difficult to lead or to follow? Or is it simply totally different skills involved. I think most people thinks that following is easiest obviously but I remember one class when there was more leaders than follows for once, so some leaders became follows and it was so funny see them actually struggle!

Thanks @@DanceWithRasa By the way, what do you personally prefer? Leading or following?

@Anne Validire I think over all following, but in general its completely different satisfaction 😇

@@DanceWithRasa I truly study your videos, thank you for taking the time to record them. I used to be in advanced classes and changed to intermediate because I felt I wasn´t following men very well. In advanced it felt like they are always pulling hard and dragging me around and in intermediate it feels like they are not giving clear directions so I end up doing it by myself and the step actually feels like the choreography the teacher taught us. What can I do? if I wait for them, we won´t pass step one

@@lyllies1130I think more social dancing would help you. In social dancing there’s many more options and usually some very advanced leaders who know the right balance of clear directions without being forceful. That comes with a lot of practice and time. Once you start dancing with these more experienced leads you can relax and trust more -go ahead and ask them to dance. Following someone whose still learning is not the best way to perfect your following.

@@virginiacreager4331Great points! This was a very helpful answer! I love my dance partners but sometimes they also don’t know what’s going on so I can’t properly learn! ❤
