www.tourvideos.com Four giant statues of Ramses the Great make a tremendous impact on the visitor at this famous temple, along with a second temple honoring his favorite wife Nefertari. These colossal temples were rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser created by construction of the Aswan Dam for us to enjoy today.
I love Egypt, been going there for the passed 26 years, bought a place in Dahab
Really! Im surprised to see a professional guide like Tamer, good job man !!
nice vlog 😍
I was in Egypt in 1979 and only made it as far as the Aswan Dam. Went to the valley of the kings in Luxor and the Pyramids of Giza. I kinda regreted it not to make it all the way to the Abu Simbel.
thanks for the comment. I work with centralholidays for my Egypt - Greece tours, they do a great job for me.
I cried watching this video. I want to go to Egypt...
I notice the guide didn't stated this information?
The home of the Nubians... Kushite rulers were crowned as Kings of Egypt, ruling a combined Nubian and Egyptian kingdom as the Black pharaohs of Egypt's 25th Dynasty.
GREAT CIVILISATION !
This was back in 2010, what about now ? Is it dangerous to go to Abu Simbel ?
I would think this is a perfect time to go to Egypt. You can expect low prices, no crowds, and friendly people happy to see you. There should be no danger at all.
Dennis Callan Hey Dennis, thanks for your answer !
Cheers...
Is this what they moved when they flooded the valley ?
+John McCarthy Yes, they relocated the entire temple complex, which would have been forever flooded under 60 feet of the Aswan-dam-created Lake Nasser, and built a new artificial hill to contain it, a remarkable example of historic preservation and international cooperation. This is one of the greatest sculptures of all time.
I just finished the ramses books, ;-;
