The pandemic didn't help the hospital staff limited, out of NO where Mom had an asthma attack & couldn't Breath they were too slow getting her oxygen. She had a heart attack never regain consciousness took 5 mins to get her back ended up brain dead. She was my Mom/best friend the good by after removing life support 😢😢💔

My dad died at home. I was rushed back to the states from Afghanistan. I got there and was rushed into his room. He looked at me and smiled. I sat beside him and he said I've been waiting for you. I kissed his forehead and he said he was going now. I told him I loved him. His dying words were "I'm so proud of you son.".

I ended up losing my father just about a month ago now to Alzheimer's Disease. Just three weeks short of his 60th birthday. Losing someone you love, someone you're so close to is the hardest thing that can ever happen. My dad wasn't just my dad, he was my best friend who raised me all on his own. I knew he held on just long enough to see me once more as I and his brothers and sisters were the only ones he seemed to really remember. I love you, Daddy.

I know it has been a bit since this video came out, but I need to share this. I am a nurse by training, and was taking care of a elderly gentleman dying with COVID. I am a rather large fellow who looks more like a biker than a nurse, but I am in no way embarrassed by the fact that I cried like a baby while holding my cell phone so this man could say goodbye to his bride of 52 years over a face time call. He had a breathing tube placed shortly there after and died the next day. I used to think having to watch a loved one die would be the hardest thing ever, but seeing them die alone is the most soul crushing experience I have ever had.

We played this song for my mom in her bedroom the night before she passed away from mestasized colon cancer June of last year... She had somehow managed to hold on from May 10 (day hospice started coming in) until June 10 (the morning she passed as I held onto her hand and told her it was okay to go). This woman went that long without food and very little fluid before she was reassured once more that we would be okay. This song is bittersweet for many. I couldn't be more grateful for Carrie and her beautiful voice singing this as I believe my mom became more peaceful with her transition.❤️

This takes me back to the hospice care unit at the hospital when my grandma passed away back in 2010. I came in with my dad brother and sister and my uncle, and aunts were there and my aunt asked my dad if he had talked to my uncle and he went out and talked to him while my siblings and i just held my grandma's hands while she was half asleep(she was sedated) and my aunt told me I could talk to her because she could hear me and was waiting on me before she let go and I told her I loved her and would see her soon gave her a big hug and she smiled. Then my aunt told me to go out and talk to my dad and uncle and that's when they told me she wasn't expected to make it through the night and I just screamed "NO!" and dropped to my knees and bawled my eyes out on the floor of the hospital. My dad and my uncle had to help me up and both held me in their arms while I cried uncontrollably. It was then the next couple days(she surprised us all she held on that long) when I was at my mom's house that I got a call from my dad that grandma had passed on. It was one of the worst days of my life. My grandma was my everything, my rock and my best friend. It's hard to lose someone you are so close to. I have tears streaming down my face and I'm surprised I can see to write this. Sorry for the loss of your dad. It is comforting to know they're no longer in pain, but it still hurts. Big virtual hugs all around.
P..S. sorry for the long comment lol

From the perspective of a foster kid, it sucks. I was in multiple foster homes. Most of the time they didn't even bother to learn my name. I went to 5 different high schools, after high school number 2, I decided I wasn't going to bother making friends anymore. I mean, what's the point if I'm just going to have to move again anyway? They give you a garbage bag to put all your stuff, like they're telling you everything you own is garbage. All the regular kids know you're a foster kid. They bounce you from place to place, and it's never home. Sometimes the people are nice. but those are few and far between. All of us kept a list of the homes that didn't work out. I kept mine on the bottom of a shoe. Some had them tattooed, and others just wrote them down in a notebook or diary. I've been out for 11 years now, but the foster system is a terrible place to be. I still haven't fully recovered, and I'm nearly 33 years old. I was seen as a paycheck and nothing more until I met my last fosters. They treated me like I was one of their own. They made no distinction between any of us. And they, saved my life. I just wish all foster kids, had what I had with them. People treating you with kindness just because they want to, and not because the have to, makes all the difference in the world.

This is a good song. It gets me in many ways. I was a single mother of 3 girls up until 7 years ago. My kids are now 16( almost 17) ,13(almost 14) and 12. I did whatever it took to keep clothes on their backs and shoes on their feet and food in their belly. Sometimes I had more than one job. Then I also lost my grandma when I was pg with my oldest, I got pregnant my two different guys one don't have anything to do with his and the younger twos dad only sees them when he feels like it. The 4 years ago a year after I got married my dad passed away, this February my oldest brother Eric who was mentally challenged passed away at the age of 43, my dad was only 61.

My dear coworker’s father was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. The day he passed..right before, he was telling her he could see angels in the room. Her sister begged him to hold on and fight. Once the sister left, my coworker told her father that the family would be fine, and he didn’t need to fight if he didn’t want to… she told him she loved him and it was okay to let go. 2 minutes later he passed. I believe some hold on just for other people. Or for as long as they can. Once they get the reassurance everybody will be fine, they feel a peace to let go. Hospice nurses talk about this all the time. And I’m also very sorry for your loss. 😢

My 20-something daughter was dealing with a major opiate addiction and pregnant when this song came out. The court put her in a great halfway house/rehab facility. I played this song for her at the facility shortly after she had my granddaughter. It was more emotion than I'd ever seen her show. That was 10 years ago now and she has been clean ever since. This song holds a special place for me.

I'm blessed to have both of my parents still. I live a few hundred miles away and even though I'm 38 years old, it scares the sh*t out of me to lose my father or mother. My dad is my rock and my mom is my cheerleader.
I don't have a husband or boyfriend to be that support I need at times. I don't have someone to call about my car questions. Someone to make me feel like I'm doing alright for myself. My parents are that for me.
I trust God will see that I have that when that time comes.
But I see my dad aging. I see this once solid man full of compassion and wisdom starting to slip away. Slowly. But my siblings and mom all see it. When he visited last summer to come pick my nephew up who was visiting with me, he got lost! It is a straight down 95 then 85.
My dad isn't one to miss an exit or make a wrong turn. I remember driving to Harrisburg from Philly back in 2004 with a friend and forgetting to print the reverse mapquest directions. We called my dad who talked us through getting back.
So when he got lost coming to my place in NC last summer it was another sign something isn't right.
This part at the end has me praying that I still have time! That I can visit every chance I get until then. ❤

I had this this song played at my daddy's funeral. One of my aunt's that had never heard this song couldn't understand at first why I was so adamant about it until she heard it played. I miss my daddy everyday.

@@BirdmansPlace Well when my dad passed I didn't deal with it because I spent all my attention on making sure mom was good and then when she went it was like losing both at the same time. Very dark times for a while. love your reactions and would love to see a reaction I have yet to see on any channel. not a tear jerker but very strong song it is Texas country which is where I am from . it is Aaron Lewis "Barbed wire halo" would mean the world if you could find the time.
