I can see why George and Andy were such good friends. They both possess and elegance and lovely demeanor. They both speak respectfully, clearly and are very articulate. Both seem to possess a kindness and humble way of being. Having the same attitude towards life and people and passion for music made them the best friends.

Biggest influence Andrew was to George, was telling him how excited he was to get money for being unemployed after leaving school, which is how George came up with the words to Wham Rap. Andrew has lived his life off George's talent since.

Andrew is truly the ideal friend.... They're like brothers and he wanted George to get whatever he wanted out of life. For anyone who has not read Andrew Ridgely's book, do so. It's a great easy, fun read. Andrew's perspective on so many things was super interesting. He talks a lot about George how Wham came to be and their friendship all without betraying confidences. In one profound sentence he lets you know what he thinks about his death. The book reminded you why you fell in love with Wham, their friendship and GM to begin with. According to Andrew, part of the hole in the ozone layer must have come from GM's excessive use of Hairspray!😂

I can't imagine being someone close to him like Andrew and adjusting to him being gone. Andrew did not have George's Talent ( but seriously who did or does) but he also had the likeability factor like George. Andrew is so classy just like George was. Also, true fans understand that without Andrew there would have never ever been a George Michael so we owe him a lot. @@Chillednfunked But they remained good friends, never had any beef over financial or other stuff like so many other bands, so I'm not sure why you're implicating that George would contest what Andrew says. I think right from the start it was obvious after the split that Andrew didn't have any big aspirations for a career in music, instead he just enjoyed the good life. I think many other guys in his situation would have recorded a solo album as quickly as possible in order to capitalize on the band's popularity, probably icluding a cover of some popular song to be released as a single and a re-recording of one of the few songs he had co-written with his more talented partner. Andrew took it easy, put out an album 4 years after the split, realized that it wouldn't go anywhere, and focussed on other things. I've always liked his attitude.

He didn't put Andrew's name on this cos Andrew didn't co write it! George wrote it one afternoon when Andrew was at his house and they started to watch the football, when George rushed off upstairs and wrote the song. George never 'put' Andrew's name on a song to make sure Andrew became rich! The songs they wrote together were written well before they started Wham! They formed The Executive first and wrote for that, and Careless Whisper, Wham Rap, and Club Tropicana, which they wrote together, were on the tape that got them their first recording contract so George would have to have been psychic to know that they'd have a word famous band and become millionaires! This is such a ridiculous story! So many people can refute it, including Shirlie and George's sisters, who named the song Tuneless Whisper when they were writing it! George himself has said in many interviews that they co wrote those songs.

I miss you both and those times.
Great to have seen this video. I was
40 when you got big in 1984. I had
a VHF videotape in 1985 of your
hits. Of course we hear Last Christmas
every year at Christmas time. I thought
that Careless Whispers was the number 1 hit here in the US in 1985.
My departed Mother liked 80's rock,
    and called Careless Whispers, "Guilty
    Feet", from the lyrics.
I was born in London, UK, near the
end of World War 2, and came to the
US in 1949 on the Queen Mary.
My wife and I spent 2 weeks in London
and other areas nearby in July 2013.
I did see our apartment from the 1940's
in London near Edgeware Road, Park
West, in 1979 too with my parents.
    Thank you.

I wish that he would have surrounded himself with more people like Andrew and Kathy .
