I really appreciate you showing the spreads that you made and then didn’t use or didn’t use as much as you expected, and how that told you that wasn’t a layout that worked for you or a spread you needed. I’m a brand new bullet journaler and you make it feel so much more approachable!
Aww thank-you Cassidy! I think it’s worthwhile sharing that type of thing 😄💜 I know when I started I got a little bit down on myself because I had so many layouts that I set up with good intentions but didn’t end up using, so I want to make sure other people know it’s okay if things don’t work out the way you hope in your journal 💪 doesn’t mean you can’t get value from it 😄
I love this! especially the very relatable commentary of "I only read one book that year" and "did not get used because I didn't lose any weight" thanks for all your great content!
I like your journey through bullet journals. In my last (and) first notebook I learned that I prefer the rolling weekly instead a full week layout, that some collections are better on notes in my phone, and that I needed more space xD One of the reasons I started to use a bullet journal is to be able to look back at them some years later, in a similar way as you show in this video, and still be able to remember those times. You could say that they serve me in the present to preserve the past for the future.
Thank you for this. My therapist recommended using a bullet card, which i quickly turned into a journal, this past Monday. Im starting with 5 tasks that i need to improve on and I'll build from there. Super excited for this
@JashiiCorrin just got to the yearly themes. My first month (August) is Bluey. September is Hello Kitty. October will most likely be My Little Pony. I do have a vintage-style mlp journal i bought for my second journal, and that will be completely rainbow and mlp themed. The one i have now is to get used to bujo and test new things in. Saved this video to use the "in my control" page for upcoming months. Most in-depth and through video I've ever seen for bujo.
This is great! I also have those trackers that I keep trying and keep not filling in, lol. But this has given me a few ideas about how to adjust my own collections next year!
Glad you got ideas from this one! 😄💜 I'm a big supporter of trying things multiple times because sometimes they'll work better if we tweak things, or if we're in a different season of life 💪
Did my nujo planning while watching this video! Such good inspiration 😊 I calculated how many pages I can use (I want to fit a whole year into one notebook) and decided what pages I want. Now I just need to pick a theme/colour scheme and set them up, can't wait!
Girl you are seriously so brilliant with these videos! I have watched your videos for years but I absolutely loved this compilation of all the beginning journal set ups! I have so many great ideas how. Thanks! 🙂
Sara, I believe your scaled back planners will be a form of self care for you. Thanks for sharing! And I’m really looking forward to your planning event for writers on the 17th!
@@JashiiCorrin I was watching Sarra's notebook planning video, but when I tried to post a comment it attached to yours, somehow? I watch you, too! In fact, I watched your live video, but when I tried to comment I got booted out. Must be a problem with my phone because my laptop doesn't do weird things like that.
Great video! I've been keeping a bullet journal since 2017, mainly as a calendar but am now trying to incorporate more trackers and collections. So happy to see your progress and your iterations.
I did noom for weight lose which helped a bit but i have an e.d. so i had to stop (for now)... noom suggests weighing yourself everyday around the same time to demystify the scale... i liked that part alot
Great video of tons of ideas. Laughed out loud at 12:04😂 Started journaling this year in July to keep focused on tasks and goals in prep for having our first kid. I have my Journal to set up for next year and I plan on including some spreads and collections you shared. Can I ask, in your 20 before 2020 and your 20 in 2020 you have one that says “Get my full” and then a picture of a car. What does that one mean?
Important note for anyone doing this for the first time: use pencil and/or sticky notes to map out everything you want to add in the beginning before starting your January spread (or whatever month you're starting with). I thought I had everything I wanted but more ideas are coming. I'm going to add a section after everything January and add a tab as a bookmark for that section and call it good! There's no such thing as perfect!
What a motivator! Thank you. I now have "BUJO Reborn". Brave of you to go through your past works - I paused them to read the daily bits. What a journey you have had. It took me over 20 years to lose the weight I was after. Eventually I dropped 50+ pounds. Keep at it, you will make it.
I am loving this! I've decided to try bujo AGAIN after so many tries and failures... I am taking notes and "stealing" some of your ideas because they are so awesome! One question, though. Do you do daily spreads as well? (Maybe I was too distracted by your lovely journals and didn't see them) I've noticed monthly and even some weekly spreads, but I'm wondering if you keep dailies or does the weekly do everything for you? I'm trying to keep dailies, but I'm not necessarily using up all of the space and I feel it's wasted. Thank you!
I saw on one page you had something about quilting. Are you a quilter?? If so, you may be my new best friend!! I have a quilt page in my new bujo that i really hope turns out cool!
I love your videos! I am starting my first bullet journal now and use your ideas and videos for inspiration :) In one of your last books you have a Level 10 Life and I am very interested in doing this kind of page. I was wondering what the stars mean on each line. They are sometimes in the farthest box colored in but not always. Does the color indicate the level you would rate that area of your life and the star something else?
When you say after the setup, do you mean the next pages I put in, or what do I do to fill in/populate the layouts? In terms of the pages that go next, those are the monthly setups of whichever month comes next 😄 I have a playlist of those to see what I mean by monthly setup: bit.ly/JC-YT-Monthly In terms of populating the layouts, I have a couple of example videos of that too 😄 ua-cam.com/video/hD_IxckBeGY/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/34XbgSm2Bh8/v-deo.html
Do I really have to do all the planning for bullet journalling? For me is just something that gives me anxiety and I wanna cry as soon as I see it and think about it 😅😅

I love to see how you have progressed over the years and it is always helpful to see new and different spreads. I love the term planner!
Thanks Michelle! I always love taking the "trip down memory lane" and looking at my early journals 😄 it's nice to see how my "style" has evolved 💪
Yay! I needed this video. I’m still deciding what all to include for my 2023 setup. Got my coffee and my waffle 🧇 ready to watch lol 😂 😃

how about doing a weight tracker, maybe if you are not focused on loss you will not have so hard of a time if you go up a bit
