Super new to all this. Came to your video to learn more about Poe switch’s as I’m currently trying to learn how to hardwire a few rooms as well as a few RING poe cameras. Can you recommend a good Poe switch that can handle minimum of 2.5 gigs. I currently have Comcast 1 gig plan and am waiting 🤞🏽 for there gig pro plan @ 2.5 gigs 🤤. 8 ports should do the trick for me if you have any recommendations.

Uplink ports are not considered "ingress", they are "egress." In other words, they're used to transfer data FROM source (IP camera and such) TO destination (router or server). Most IP devices are uni-directional (uplink only) unless they have voice functionality (uplink & downlink). In this case, I don't think this switch will accommodate the voice functionality.

Ethernet switches are inherently bidirectional. They couldn’t work otherwise. The only thing that is directional is the PoE power.
The uplink ports act as trunk ports and carry all the VLANS. That’s what makes them distinct from the regular ports. And of course they don’t carry PoE power.
