07-14 Cadillac Escalade mid row seat issue explained

2007 - 2014 Cadillac Escalade rear passenger seat or mid row seat not retracting. The backrest stays locked preventing it from going up. In this video I explain the most common issue and the resolution.

Having a similar issue except my latches will not engage when the seat is pushed down. I think lubricating the locking mechanism will work as well.

2010 Tahoe Rear seat similar issue. That joint was rusted. Been searching for the now simple fix for months.

I don't have captains chairs but one of my 2nd row split bench seats is doing the same thing.
