@@viksinha5410 Some stattos say underlying numbers aren't as bad as the results. At the end of the day, no one really knows. We're all just going on what's happened in previous seasons.
@ By underlying numbers do you mean xG, passing, etc? Our xG hasn’t been terrible, but our xG against has been appalling. I’m pretty sure every team we’ve faced in our last five matches has had an xG of 2.0 or higher, which speaks volumes about how poor we’ve been defensively. Our attack has actually not been terrible, but I’m struggling to find one match which I can safely say we could’ve or should’ve gotten a result. Bournemouth outplayed us for 80 minutes, Sporting was a game of two halves in which they were far more clinical, same with Brighton, and 4-0 at home against any opponent is unacceptable. I’m hoping that we go 20 games unbeaten again and win the title, but I will only start believing when I see a consistent improvement in our performances, especially defensively. And for that, I believe Pep will have to change his tactics so we aren’t relying too much on Rodri and focus on getting the basics right.

If City get found guilty, Pep is going to quit. I dont think this contract means anything regarding the law suit. What it could mean is that City are somewhat confident that even if they get found guilty, City will not be relegated.
I wouldn’t be placing large bets on Liverpool just yet. Last season they had that annoying habit of late goals and just shading games by the odd goal. Granted they were never 8 pts clear, but I sensed there wasn’t much breathing space and it wouldn’t take a big collapse for the 2-1 wins to become 2-2s, or even 2-1 defeats and sure enough the last 10 games were not kind on them. So I think we wait and see, it’s still very early in the season. I think pundits are making too much of them beating Real Madrid. 2-0. At Anfield. I’d expect Liverpool to win that game at Anfield! Beating Real Madrid at your own place, it’s not that hard, I seem to recall a fairly weak but Fabregas-inspired Arsenal beating them 2-0 or 2-1 in London, only to come badly unstuck out there. I think Sporting 1 Arsenal 5 is a much more significant result when you observe the quality of Arsenal’s build-up moves. 4 of their 5 goals were fairly easy tap-ins after bamboozling the defence with approach play. The 5 of 5 was the Magalhaes corner-header, which is just Old Faithful really.
