- Good morning! Spring is here, and I've been picking up some clothes here and there for my five children for the new season. I've shopped at Once Upon a Child, Carters, Walmart, H&M, and Old Navy. :)
Hi everyone! My name is Julie, and I'm a mama to FIVE! My kids are 11, 10, 8, 6, and 3. I post videos every Monday that are either mommy tips, favourites, homeschool curriculum reviews, birth/postpartum tips, hauls, or some other kind of 'mommy' video! I live in Pennsylvania and the beginning of the week its snowing by the end of the week its in the 70s. Cant wait for real spring to stay ! Great clothing finds

To gift my girls a clothing item that i know they will love is such a good feeling. Ive gotten items after the fact like you did with Zara's dress and I was so excited to see their faces light up. You are such a good mama, and I love a good clothing haul. I'll be doing my spring shopping hopefully this week.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong getting shoes secondhand. There have been many times I’ve found barely use for brand new shoes for my kids. I found new balances a couple months ago for my daughter and they were brand new! I always wash them well anyways lol!! But anywho loved the haul!

I have a just turned 7 boy and twin girls who are 5 and I usually just buy their clothes. My son could care less. But I let my girls pick out their Easter dress online and it came in and they were showing their dad and one of my girls said “look daddy at the dress I ordered isn’t it beautiful.” I think I will start letting them pick their own stuff more. She was so happy she picked it herself. ☺️
That’s so fun! As my kids get older, they definitely like having a say in their clothes and it works so well, because I know those clothes will get worn the most! 😊
I got 2 easter dresses (spring/summer dresses so not just for easter) and luckily I did cuz the kid's easter performance at our church this year is on palm sunday. So she'll have one that day and easter sunday. We're huge n George and Carters from Walmart and Old Navy. I rarely buy Old Navy unless on sale but they're almost always on sale.
Yes Old Navy always has good sales!

Not as much as we probably should...we just buy what they need and try not to go overboard!

I thrift everything for my kids because I find they grow so fast at 23 months and 3 years.
Do they start to slow down at a certain age, where it’s worth investing in some brand new items?!
Yes! 😁 as they get older they definitely slow down a bit in growth, but it also gets harder and harder to get used clothing in good condition! I go to Once Upon a Child from time to time and I try to buy a lot of what we need. I really don’t have time to frequent other thrift stores though. I’ve found that if I shop sales, I can get prices that are almost as good as used, and since they have no wear, they can be passed on to my younger kids too. 😊

I really like H&M clothing/prices, but their shipping (at least to for us, in Texas) has been a month out (even before Covid). So I have to really be on top of my game and order in advance. And then last time I ordered, I payed and checked out, and a week later I got an email saying my order was canceled because the item was now out of stock. 😳 Now two weeks later it’s saying it will be ready to ship soon. 🤷🏻♀️ So, basically I just never know if or when things will actually arrive. It’s unfortunate, because they really do have cute clothes and great prices!

You really shouldn’t buy shoes second hand! You should buy good quality shoes for all your kids, feet are important!
New would be optimal, but if I can get a good brand second hand, with not much wear, I’m happy with that!
Your middle son got 1 thing? Poor thing. I know he will get hand me downs but new shirts, shoes, jeans and lots for Wesley! Will you be buying your middle son anything more. I’m sure he will be just as excited for NEW AS YOU ARE

I think I showed four items for him! 😊 This is definitely not their full wardrobe, and will each get more items than I showed here. Also, some of the kids have grown a size since last summer, and some haven’t. Wesley won’t fit into anything he wore last summer...all of the other kids are growing slower and so they still fit into shorts/dresses, etc from last summer. But yes, we buy them all some new items!
