Another awesome video bro. You and white dog overland are by far my favorite content creator. Content is always real and raw. Love your guys rig set ups as well nit all the commercial crap. Keep it up bro🫡👏🏽👏🏽
@@bfm_overland I’m from Robert Lee Tx but live in Oklahoma now. My mom lives in mason tx in the hill country and I fish the James River outside of town when I visit. Pretty good trout fishing.
Hi folks from Texas! I've been looking to go places like this. Got my Jeep's rooftop tent; where is this place? I would love to check it out! Amazing video, I like it.
Hell yeah! Love the location! Always have the 20lber because you can exchange them anywhere. I changed my grates out with cast iron. Big difference. Brother you are living the life! That is how you filet a fish! If you haven't try smoked salt. When you have the right protein you are satisfied. Damn the fish head could have been some bait. BAMF setup!
Solid video bro! Yeah man, had same issue with my 5lb tank. I switched to an Ignik 5lber that has some sort of particle filter on it; maybe some filter adapter replacement on the hose would do the trick 🤙🏿
Thanks brotha 👊🏼 Mine is the ignik one! I got it from rei a couple years ago, maybe it’s an older pre filter model. I’ll have to look into that, I appreciate the tip 🤙🏼
On the propane issue you have to make sure those hoses are a screwed in tight to the propane bottle. It might seem like it’s tight enough but give it a good crank to make sure
@@bfm_overland I hope it works, I went camping north of Santa Fe New Mexico last weekend and have a portable blackstone that takes 1lb bottles but bought the hose from amazon that adapts it to a 20lb bottle and that was my issue m.
@ man it was awesome weather when I went last weekend. Which you would think for the end of December would not be the case. Low 30’s at night but high 50’s low 60’s during the day. I went to the Jemez mountains and had to go up a few iced over switch backs to get to my spot and I guess that deterred other people bc I was basically the only person I saw the entire time in that section of national forest it was badass. Went to Spence hot spring on the side of a mountain and was the only one there. Check it out bc it’s beautiful
I've had problems using those propane adapter hoses, too. There are safety valves on them which are essentially check valves. I've been able to disconnect the hose from the device, tap in on the ground then reconnect with success. I think slowly opening the main valve on your tank and letting the pressure regulate for a bit may help too. I need to do some test runs, but that's why I switched to an RV stove top in my 3rd gen.
I remember when you were having those issues with yours too. That was a long time ago lol I forgot all about that. I’m excited to see that new stove setup man!
It was a gift from my neighbors sister that has that van life setup. If someone gifts me something I make a strong effort to use it. It'll be cool to experiment with new stuff too.
Great videos man also nice truck, as far as your propane tank there is a valve and those things are very sensitive make sure when you open the valve go easy and make sure it's connected to the stove closed before you open the tank.
That place you were fishing with the tents on the other side of the river are cool looking, where exactly is that? Or do you know the name of the rental?, thanks
These are actually stocked trout! Texas parks and wildlife stocks certain rivers in the winter time. Unfortunately it’s too hot here for the trout to survive. And yes great swimming!
Those are all stocked trout, right? You should fee free to eat whatever you catch. Real pretty area. I need to check that out, not an overlander so haven't heard about the Hill Country Overland Route. Looks fun.
Yes sir stocked! They do this river every December, yea I usually don’t ever keep fish. But these trout won’t make it through the spring here it’s too hot. So might as well enjoy them It’s a pretty cool route, nothing crazy off road just some dirt roads and a couple water crossing. Unfortunately we don’t have much to work with in Texas
Awesome video… I always enjoy watching. 👍👍 I’m from southwest Louisiana and do a lot of camping in east Texas. National forests. We just did our first Hill Country trip last week. Found an awesome place on Hipcamp. Laf Ranch near Medina. 1100 acres and very secluded. What area are you at?
why are you using a bass lure to fish for trout? a rattle trap with a barbed treble hook? though it's not illegal, its definitely poor sportsmanship. those other little trout you hooked and released will likely die. you have a great setup, lots of cool toys on your rig, but things like "leaving my extra firewood for the next camper" are not good principles for backwoods camping: the next high water will scatter that firewood downstream. educate yourself, please.
You must not be a fisherman at all. That’s not a bass lure if you look closely it’s actually a matte German brown trout jerk bait. Maybe you should Educate yourself before posting ignorant comments like this. And yes leaving firewood for the next person is a fine principle. I appreciate when I pull up to a campsite and there’s a stack of wood someone left. Nothing wrong with that. It’s firewood, not trash. I guarantee I clean more trash at places I go than anyone you know. Once again you should educate yourself

We did a couple of weeks ago. I believe we have 11 in the freezer. We went to dinosaur valley state park in Glen rose tx.
Awesome man that’s a nice area!
Oh nice! I’ve been wanting to take the kids there, heard it’s a lot of fun
The Guadalupe in san marcos area has some great trout fishing, have done a couple of guided trips on the river, and was a lot of fun
Great video, love the fishing and camping combo you have going on. Looking forward to doing it soon myself!
Thanks brotha 👊🏼 now’s the time of year!
Good stuff man. Keep it up.
Thanks brother 👊🏼
Nothing beats the sound of a good hook set 🤙🏽
You got that right 👊🏼
Thanks for the content brother!
Thanks brotha! 🤙🏼
Great video, and great dinner! I need to get better at fishing lol
Thanks man. Lol just train the dogs to do it for you!

Yea man! I definitely wasn’t expecting that. Sick good luck 👊🏼 1st gen’s are legendary trucks

Yes the Texas hill country overland route

@ it’s really nice we stayed there a couple months ago just watch out for scorpions
Did you stay in one of those that look like two-story tents?, Thanks for the heads up I will keep an eye out.
I’m going there tomorrow!
Hell ya man! Have fun 🙏🏼
That is cool didn’t know there was wild trout in the hill country. You did great!
Can people get in the water in the summer Or not recommended?
