I am prone to all the three...which one of the three i do the most depends on what circumstances I am going through...like currently I am looking at my future and worried...and comparing myself and feeling like I am not enough...😐
Flash backs from past sometimes attack my mind but I don’t like to dwell in the past.worried for my kids if that counts worried about future.the only person I’m comparing myself to her is myself.
I would also say that I am guilty of doing all three, sometimes all together at the same time . They can each have a domino effect on each other, which can really keep me farther from joy or finding myself getting "quick hits" of joy. I love this message not only because its pertaining directly to my situation, but because it points at that Joy is not something we have to "search" for. I'm thankful for my trial and will choose to put joy in front of me! Thank you Jesus.
I am prone to looking ahead most of the time and usually looking around and comparing myself to others is a result of that. I begin to think about my future and then look at what other people are doing and it will have me thinking and feeling that I have to do better or that I’m not doing enough. Then I’m in a constant circle of worry but I am working on it. God has been bringing it to my attention and I’m giving it over to Him.
You can’t plan ahead!! Because you aren’t in control! I thought I had my future planned-then BAM!! I was struck down & my body was injured! I became disabled! I could no longer work on a job! My plan was gone! It has been very hard to accept being unable to do things because I physically can’t! I still struggle with that! My feelings have been so mixed up, because I feel I lost myself! I’m trying to find myself again! God is trying to mold me to be the person I should be now!! Please include me in prayer!
I don't know if you will get this as it has been years since your last post. But I know the pain you feel. I know God has to take away certain things to help us see the deeper purpose in our lives. There is something greater for you. Perhaps writing? Painting? Work with what God left you with ands you will see great achievement and success. God bless you. Stay strong
Listening to this sermon gave me the definition of joy! For years I have struggled trying to be joyful. I realize that I was focusing on the wrong things to give me joy. God lead me to watch this entire sermon. I feel so encouraged. I have been battling with depression, anxiety and loneliness for years. I need Him. I need Jesus!

Never seemed constant esp when I felt triggered- Always figured "I was The Problem😳" ...wasnt Praying Hard.. Or Forgiving authentically enuf... Or not being "dedicated Christian😑"

I have NEEDED to hear this! I have felt SO alone for SO long!!! I'm in a profession that requires me to help others along a healing journey. But my joy has been lacking. I have NOT felt loved or appreciated. After this message...I really do feel better. I felt like I was dying inside. I have been eating my emotions, on and off, for a year. Hello, I am in need of prayer. I am having some health issues specifically with my eyes. I pray all day long for healing but I would appreciate more than you know for anyone reading this to pray for me. I suffer from horrible anxiety that is even worse when involving health issues. Nikki I’m praying with you right now! When ever you read this pray and who ever joins will be blessed. I pray for complete healing and Gods will to be done. In Jesus name Amen! My daughter is very ill and I know God did not make her ill, but in the worst of times I’ve learned that God is working something I don’t understand. I do find joy in the weirdest times because I place my thoughts of what blessings are to come. She goes through severe pain which I won’t say it’s easy but I BELIEVE in His promises. You find who is really with you when you finally give it all to God and He gives you joy and happiness, just in his presence, and you choose to live life for God and all He calls me to and I act on that as priority #1! It hurts still.😢
i’m sixteen and i was struggling with loneliness and sadness since 2 years, i was praying but nothing changed, sometimes i was feeling joy but it never lasted because it didn’t came from God. I prayed so hard to find joy but i realised that i was praying only for my feeling. I’m so thankful to God because i could listen this sermon today, it completely changed my vision. God bless u 🙏🏾

I’m from South Africa but I recently came to China to work and teach English here..I’ve been a Christian my whole life so it’s really difficult to be on a land that is barren with No Christ..The city that I’m living in doesn’t have any Churches ..in fact the Chinese government doesn’t want Christianity practiced here but every week I ensure I listen to your messages no matter how old or new it is..I am so inspired by everything that you say! I really do miss my sermons from back home and I really miss going to Church but this helps me so much..this message has truly touched me..there’s so much that I’m stressed and concerned about but you helped me realise that I should go back to my source and draw strength and Wisdom from Christ.

Beautiful Sermon, I have Joy because I have Jesus. I have nothing else.lost my home, car, everything I own even all my clothes. My teeth thru a car accident. I tried to take my life but God had another plan for me.
Im still in the same place with all my material stuff. But know I have Joy from the grace of God.
I sometimes don't understand how can feel Joy with my circumstances, but I really do.

James 1
This topic of Joy is an area of great concern for him right now.
He wasn't getting more joy while he was getting more stuff, more success, etc..
If you are looking for more joy you need to be aware of what is DESTROYING YOUR JOY - DJS
James 1:
Trials and Temptations
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and
sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know
that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish
its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any
of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without
finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must
believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea,
blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive
anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all
they do.
WE might not be all going through the SAME THING but we are all going through SOME THING
The Distinction of JOY
We must first make a distinction in different types of TRIALS
There are different kinds of trials.
I need to understand what kind it is, so I know what tool to use!
There is a difference from TRIALS and TEMPTATIONS
TEMPTATIONS COMES FROM HELL (to destroy you)
TRIALS COME FROM LIFE (to develop you)
There are trials that people go through when they don't have money and trials when they do have money.
Trials of many kinds
It's a different distinction to say you are going through a temptation vs a trial
YOU RESIST TEMPTATION
BUT WITH A TRIAL IT IS NOT RESISTANCE IT IS MORE ABOUT ACCEPTANCE
God give me the wisdom to let it do what it needs to do - stop resisting what I need to accept
and start resisting when I don't need to accept it
Don't ever judge your temptation against others temptations
If there is different kinds of temptations and trials
There is a different kind of JOY
I want REAL JOY - NO matter what the weather is etc..
A DEEPER JOY - A FULLER JOY
A PURE JOY - James calls it PURE
That means there is an impure JOY
We all think we have to be happy all the time! There is a pressure to be happy all the time
Because we are swimming in surface level we feel like we have to be happy all the time.
If we are not happy then we think there is something wrong!
BLESSED IS THE SAME AS HAPPY - It's really interchangeable in the bible
Happy and Joy
There is joy you can have without JESUS but the question becomes this
Do we mean pleasure?
Sometimes it is a part but it is not the essence of Joy
COUNT IT ALL JOY
If you realize that everything you are going through is going to serve a purpose
JOY is a product of purpose
Joy has more to do with direction.
Where is it coming from?
DIRECTION OF JOY
HEBREWS 12
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with
perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
You don't need a FEELING - You need a FOCUS
It's like when you see something that says "Choose Joy" makes you more depressed (or
choose to be Happy - that one drives me nuts!)
He did NOT enjoy the CROSS, the NAILS, the PAIN
He ENDURED because what was before him was more important.
He prayed God to take it away but He set JOY ahead of his feelings
Your JOY comes from your PRIORITIES
It's your PRIORITIES
Joy is controlled by PRIORITIES
He could go through what he had to go through because JOY was not in the experience
Don't say the devil stole your Joy!
My Joy is my JOB!
Its about FOCUS.
WHAT HAVE YOU SET BEFORE YOU?
You can't always control your feelings but you can control your FOCUS.
He didn't resist it - He accepted it.
Joy is before you -
You are NEVER GOING TO GET IT LOOKING BEHIND YOU.
The Joy set before you.
Psalms 16 - In your presence is the fullness of JOY
Read Psalms 16:5-11
That means there is such thing as partial JOY.
Putting your joy in the wrong thing means it will be fragmented.
Don't compare your JOY to others - LOOKING behind you OR
LOOKING around you
Nothing behind you can kill you unless you let it!
Fix your eyes on the present - In your PRESENCE
GOD'S PRESENCE IS EVERY WHERE!
IT becomes a question of MY PRESENCE.
WHAT HAVE I SET BEFORE ME?
Your JOY is controlled by your PRIORITIES.
WHATEVER IS YOUR PRIORITY - IS YOUR BACKSEAT DJ!
Fix your eyes on JESUS - means he is your priority.
Jesus said I am not driven my earthly metrics.
Where it comes from - determines when it runs out.
DURATION OF JOY
When it comes to your joy and your sense of fulfillment - where it comes from determines when it runs out
There is nothing wrong with enjoying some things - but just don't put your JOY in it!
Anything you join yourself to other than Jesus will run out
John 14:11 - so that your JOY may be COMPLETE
My JOY is not my MOOD.
JOY IS NOT A FEELING
IT'S A FOCUS!
What I am really asking for is more FOCUS
FLIP IT!
FOCUS ON WHAT GOD
GAVE YOU TO DO

I found Steven on t,b,n, tv here in wonderful Salem OR while recovering from 9 surgerys on my shoulder ,,, 29 months home from work accident at work then bone infection ,,,, I went through hell with this 9 different stays at the same hospital here in Salem ,,, then recovering at home each time ,,, I have always had God in my life ,,, and needed him the most then when I found Steven furtick I was sooo depressed ,,,, Steven way of preaching lit a fire under my butt ,,, and turned things around for me in my head and and my heart ,,, crash the chatter box was next,,,, wow,,, I still had 4 more surgerys to go and my out look on life had changed lots,, my fath restored even bigger then before ,,,, my life is back to normal , at work and at home ,,, Steven furtick got me through all that I'm so hooked on god now,,, thank you brother with all my love thank you
