He’s very self aware of what other fighters view his weakness are.
Alex: I hurt people.
Werdun: How often do you hit them?
Alex: All the time.
He is very smart man and his fight with Strickland proved it. Strickland himself has very good fight IQ, always knows what to do right without gassing out. But Alex’s fight IQ is out of this world and he proved it in this interview too.
Very rare to hear fighters talk like this
But its still funny cause Strickland didnt look like he was fighting very intelligently, just going forward like he knew he couldnt avoid his destiny.
what are u sayin? im sure u never trained or anything... strickland was bloacking the jab with his front hand, as an ORTHOOX fighter u block with rear hand and shoot the jab.... that is a rookie mistake. he got work to do... im not better, but better than u forsure.
you dont get to be a striking champ without being intelligent.
Very good IQ? Yes walking forward with your hands down, throwing single shots no combos, and never initiating a single grappling exchange is the definition of high fight IQ.
Pereira became my favorite fighter recently. gO BRAZIL. Thanks for the interviews
Thank you man, amazing and very informative part about this fight! I wanted to know more how Alex mind works in the fight. Please man do more fragments from this interview to Werdum!!
Same bro, we are both big fans of his and are really invested in how he approaches his fights and thinks
Alex has been improving his performance during interviews, he used to be very grumpy and quite. These last two years he's been much more comfortable to talk on cameras. I think he did say about his opponents that pick up my attention is that he rather watch his opponents interviews than their fights, because he can read their mind easy through interviews than the fight by itself.
U could see on Strickland face just walking out to his entrance he was already defeated looked overwhelmed but will massive experience for him going forward, love to see him fight izzy the press conference will be undefeated
nope thats wrong
@@edmundvalero6841 more detail please eddymund,be more comprehensive
@@matiurussell8342 Strickland was delusional coming in to this fight thinking he could stand with a world class kickboxer. It wasnt until he felt the wrath of poatan he realized. You just commenting what you want to see
@@edmundvalero6841 wow delusional or not when you fight for a living you have to be confident lol wether it's talking it up or not,he Strickland gym has killers in there and he spars with HW but I believe the occasion got to him after having such a great press conference lol was pretty much told if he wins title shot that big stage experience got him and Alex timed that hook beautifully,Sean will be better for the experience him and jarred will be interesting,
@@edmundvalero6841 we don’t know what was going on in stricklands mind, of course he is going to act confident going into a fight
Thank you so much for the english subtitles!! Best interview of Pereira i've seen.
This is awesome my favourite channel! Can we get the whole interview translated in English? Thanks!
Obrigado, bro S2. At the moment I still do it as a hobby and would take me too long to subtitle all these long interviews, as I'm very loyal to all expressions, it's a lot of work, so I need to post only the main clips for you all. But who knows, maybe in the future it will be possible. Tamo junto!
@@brazilianmmalegends awesome, keep it up! Great work!
thanks for translation!
When he says I hurt people and they laugh quietly like "please don't kill me".
Even knowing it’s Werdum there I believe in you. 😂
Think this dude is my new favorite fighter. Str8up.
“I hurt people I hurt people” Yeah Alex don’t think people doubt that bro. You have fucking concrete block for hands 😂
Full podcast? Does it have subtitles? Anyone
We don't even speak the same language but I would rather he be champion than Izzy. No dis to Izzy but I am not a fan of his attitude. I like Pereira, reminds me of Fury I guess because of the sober thing BUT they are also both big bruisers. Both dangerous af.
There go Fernely!!
I dnt think he will ever loose in ufc .....
Until he gets controlled on the mat for 5 rounds
@@PointlesslyNecessaryConvos izzy is known for wrestling?? this guy is an evolved izzy, these people won't even get close to grappling him
@@chubEEEEE you´re braindead, he is not an evolved izzy at all lmfao.... he is Alex Pareira, the guy who beat Izzy 3 times and fights in a completely different manner than izzy... but he is yet to develop his TDD and grappling game... to say people wont get close to grappling him when he already got outwrestled by a smaller dude who held him down in the UFC is quite ambitious. he has alot to work on to stay champ... that being said i think he wipes out the division with the right mindset and if he keeps working hard to improve the parts of his game that are lacking within MMA.
@@silenceisprecious8281 he turned izzy into a grappler, izzy's only take down was because alex took the wind out of izzy and went too crazy to the body which gave izzy the opening. He let izzy tire himself out because there was no submission threat. the way you watch and the way i watch the fights are different and i respect that but there's levels to what we see so to call me braindead when you sir, are the brain dead one
@@chubEEEEE yeah the way we watch fights is different and the way we read words are different, in the sense that i read them as they´re written adn you read them as you want to read them. nobody but you talked about the grappling in this fight but you yet here you are defending yourself using the logic that he managed to survive izzys grappling who literally never ever grapples in his fights so that means he´ll be fine against actual good grapplers.... if he ever made the mistakes he made against izzy grappling wise against any of the top tier wrestlers and grapplers of that division he could quickly find himself getting khabib´d on... he has alot of work to do... izzy worked for a long time to be able to deal with those things and always be able to implement his boring ass yet effective gameplans... and Alex will have to work hard on his defensive grappling to be able to always play to his own advantages and make people play his game. and it doesnt matter to that ur brain is too small to realize ur lack of intelligence. reality is there wether you accept it or not. Alex Pareira is the most dangerous man in the division but he still has a lot of work ahead of him.
But o I need this is English I wanna listen to the whole thing
How low he keeps his hands, i am so surprised no one caught him yet. Like wtf..
he knows the distance
Only scrubs think you have to have your hands up all the time
@@venicec3310 no all the time, but most of the time., And how you you know? Go play your little homeless chess and smoke fake ass cigars 🤣🤷
Well, he got.
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
he does notice that he is fucked if you watch it in slow mo..
Acho vacilo o poatan ficar revelando essas coisas. Vão analisar o jogo dele e depois já era.
KKKKKKKKKK CALA BOCA
Cala boca
A equipe do Adesanya analisou o jogo dele e mesmo assim ele venceu
Vc tá com a ideia errada de estratégia e ação kkkkkkkkkkk
Espero estar mesmo, porque torço por ele.
He’s iq is as high as he’s power
He didn't say "I hurt people", he said he did damage at him at that fight. The problem is he used the present of the indicative, which is wrong but nowadays people tend to speak that way in Brazil.
He didn’t said he hurt that particular guy, he said he hurt people in general. So the subtitle is right.
This dude thinks he is doing mma, when he is only kickboxing inside an octogon and he does not even move well, even a striker that moves well like karate kid thompson cant avoid been taken down by "ok" wrestlers, even anderson silva could not do it either against sonnen, Alex Pereira is delusional, a kick boxer protected by the UFC end of story
the goal is to win. punches, knees, slaps or even bites if necessary. Did Adesanya do mma? if yes, why did she lose? if not, why did he beat so many in mma? in the end the important thing is to win the fight. Losing is part of the sport. now don't say that Pereira is just this or that. he is not there to ask favors.
@@Intruso10 UFC fights are fixed, reality is, bring a wrestler from dagestan whose not even in the top 10 in wrestling and adesanya is on the ground for 25 minutes, but the UFC of course dont want to bring those guys on purpose not even one wrestler from the top 10 and thats why those matches are fixed, UFC knows that well only the fans dont get it. Chimaev, khabib, Makhachaev, you did not figure out yet why they are so dominant ? They are high level wrestlers and they are not even in the top 10. top 10 wrestlers are names you have never heard of, and they will keep adenanya on the ground for 3 hours straight if they wanted. The debate wrestler vs striker has already been settled from long time ago for people who observe with a mind of their own, its only the UFC a marketing company with fixed fights that keeps the confusion going.
