A good balanced review, a change from the usual hype for these things. Big cons for me are the lack of self-timer (not for selfies, but to use on a tripod) and poor viewfinder info. At least it should have shown shutter speed. Also, the prices these days, unless you are lucky, are silly thanks to all the hype. There are better cameras for less, like the MX, KX, Minolta SRT101 etc. The constructional weakness of the K1000 is the meter.
I know this is old video. But remember the all manual helps you understand how to create good pictures by slowing you down. Also one advantage is no batteries required to take pictures.
Hi Vlad! I have a problem with my Pentax K1000 rewind. So I took a set of pictures, rewinded and put the first film away. I loaded second roll and cranked it until the knob started to turn. Everything seemed fine. After 35 pictures, I went to rewind as normal and, to my surprise, a short grinding sound occurred, then no tension when turning the knob, at all! It was as if there hadn’t been any film in there at all. I turned about 30 times for good measure, and opened the back to find the film rolled like normal. Should I even bother developing these pictures? The guy at the store said it seemed like everything was fine to him at first glance, but I have a bad feeling about it.
It sound to me like it really is empty. You could have loaded the film not correctly, that still happens to me sometimes, even if I am sure I did it right. If there was really no tension after a couple of spins, I think you can just shoot the film again (google how to get it out of the canister - it's very easy, or ask the store guy to do that)
As these cameras don’t have a market price, it’s not as easy to judge whether they’re cheap or not, I got mine for 65€ with a 50mm 1.8 lens, but someone like you could’ve been lucky and paid less, or someone who doesn’t know/care would pay more
Both videos really good, waiting for further analog photography videos of you

Nice video ! U from Latvia?
thanks! no, from Ukraine!
👏👏👏✨
I came for the k1000. I stayed for the accent.
They are cheap, 1) camera-$25. 2) 200mm f4-$40. 3) 28mm f3.5-$40. Complete kit $105.

The minute the Chinese touched it it turned into a piece of JUNK. Anything they make is crap.
