  • The Haïda, the Salmon People, lives on islands off the northwestern coast of Canada.
Every summer, thousands of salmon used to come to the shores of these windy and stormy islands. But for a few years now, fewer and fewer of them have crossed the Pacific Ocean. What will happen if they are no more salmon, how will the Haïda be reincarnated?
The legend has it that when a Haïda man dies, he becomes a salmon, and when a salmon dies, he is reborn as a man… Keurthants must go up the river and renew the alliance of his people with the salmon.
Documentary: " Land of legends - The Salmon People "
    Direction: Jean-Michel Corillion

I fantasized about living in the forest since I was little. But to your point I ask, aren't we all being ourselves, living lives our way? Even if that way is in conflict with our true nature and out of harmony with the natural world?

An absolutely EXCELLENT documentary! Having lived for years in Alaska, as well as traveled the ALCAN many times, I have a large collection of Haida artwork and items, including a purse, dishes and quilt patterns of their many totem animals. Beautiful artwork. Beautiful people. Thank you for sharing.

Loved it! These stories, cultures, and traditions should be shared in our schools. All the history of the indigenous Americans should be as main a part of our education, as our immigration and slavery history if not more. Tons of lost knowledge
