      Hello there. I found the lost file which is functional but when i put it in a new folder and then open this folder in davinci resolve no project of mine appears. It's just a folder with nothing inside. Any idea on what to do?

    Great video, but not sure if it will work for me. So I’ve been editing a video for the past few weeks and finally finished it. I was going through the timeline looking for clips that I would use as a hook in the beginning. Once I finished the hook I zoomed out only to find that my video was gone. In a panic I closed the software thinking it would exit without saving, but it ended up saving. I did not have the recovery auto save activated. Do you think that there is anything I can do? I still have all of my media in the pool.

    This doesn't help at all, I'm trying to find the file and you already have it open you don't show how to get there

      You need to recover the file using recovery software. It is not a step by step guide. Please watch the video to get a general view on how to recover the project.

    Hello there I did as instructed, recovered the file which is functional but when i open the new data base my lost project isn't appearing anywhere. I also have a new davinci resolve version so what's the problem?

      Did you figure out a solution? I'm having the same problem and panicking

      If your still facing the issue, try this,
      From resolve project manager, create a new folder, and create a new project. After that close resolve, open project location of the newly created project and replace the project file.

      @@TechCycle I did this but the project won't open. It says that it appears to be incomplete or unreadable. Any other suggestion maybe?

    • @TechCycle
      @TechCycle  6 місяців тому +2

      Make sure your resolve version is same as that of recovered file.That's the only suggestion that i can think of.
      Also, try to open the project file in notepad to check whether the recovered file is corrupted or not.

      @@TechCycleAppreciate the response. Well how do i know which version i had back then? I think i updated da vinci only once since then. I also opened the file in note pad and it's perfectly fine.

    I was working on the edit page, looking at rearranging some clips, shrinking, extending, deleting, etc.
    I was undoing some of the changes I'd made with ctrl-z and then all of a sudden I hit ctrl-z and my entire timeline disappeared. Including everything in my media pool, all my fusion comps, etc.
    I had a couple hours into this video already and it just...disappeared. I closed and reopened the program, which I think was probably a mistake, but when I did it lookedl ike in the project manager my source clip was still there but when I opened it everything looked empty.
    Did I maybe do soemthign to swtich to a different timeline or soemthing? It seems ridiculous you can ctrl-z and somehow undo an entire project. I have autosave on, but I odn't see any way to revert to an older version. help plss

    • @TechCycle

      First of all, from the media pool, time section, check whether you still got the timeline or not. If timeline is there, then probably your project is safe.
      Otherwise, only option to save your project is whether you activated automatic backup or not. Auto save is different from automatic backup as auto save will save the project, while auto back up will create a new back up file.
      To check whthere you got auto back up or not, from project manager right click the project and choose appropriate option (can't remember exact option) , it will show a list of all backup, choose latest backup from there.

    • @dynamicrangeproductions
      @dynamicrangeproductions 8 місяців тому +1

      @@unknownlamalll so I think
      Basically you need to replicate the folder in the proper directory, that is saved on davinci resolve in your computer

      @@dynamicrangeproductions I recovered the lost file, which is functional but when I paste it in the project file of the new database and then open davinci it shows me the folder I created which contains the recovered deleted file but when I open it there's nothing inside.

    Stuck on the last step I made a folder with the recovered db on projects but when I open Davinci it's not there.

    • @TechCycle
      @TechCycle  Рік тому

      Did you check whether the db file is corrupted or not. Also, make sure the davinci versions are the same, as sometimes newer db files won't open in older resolve.
