I devoured Kleypas books this year! My favorite in the Hathaways series is the first one. But Devil in Winter is definitely my favorite Kleypas of this year. Joanna Shupe is quickly becoming one of my favorite historical romance authors and bride goes rogue solidified that.
This to to all: I am looking for Kindle Unlimited Historical Romance recommendations.(prefer steamy over sweet)..I have a few months left before my trial runs out....I found some really good recommendations from this channel of which I am purchasing..Thanks to PLB for the great content...I am 60+ male, married to same gal 40+ yrs, found historical romances back in the day, Rosemary Rogers, Kathleen Woodiwiss...and others...I enjoy the HR genre for the..history , human relationships and of course, the females. Count me as a new subscriber...😊
I’m so pleased that Love in the Afternoon & Dreaming of You made your list because they are my ultimate favorites 💕 as well as A matter of Temptation. I’m also the opposite cause 2022 was the year I literally only read Historical’s 😅 my favorite I read had to be The perfect Rake by Annie Gracie.
I really want to read The Marquess Makes His Move!! My favorite historicals in 2022 were An Offer From a Gentleman, The Perks of Loving a Wallflower, A Week to Be Wicked, Wild Rain, and Dare to Be a Duchess (that last one I heard about from you!)
Yay for more historical romance content, it's my favorite kind! I'm glad to hear so many BookTubeers want to read more historicals this year. I have a hard time connecting with any other romance subgenres, so most of the hyped books don't appeal to me at all. :( There are many 2023 releases that look really good (Joanna Shupe, Harper St. George, Lorraine Heath has 2 books coming out, etc.) so hopefully it will a be a good year for new and old historicals!
I am definitely saving this video for later to add most of these to my reading list. Especially the “Returning Hero” genre. Even though it’s so typical for someone in my profession to say 😂😂
Love Historical content!! I’ve been reading more OG historicals like right now I’m reading Captive Bride by Johanna Lindsey and it’s so good. I really want to read The Flame and the Flower by Kathleen Woodiwiss which I believe, is the “first” historical romance.
I Love Teresa Medeiros ..Have you read her Once upon a time series?..1 Charming the Prince 2.The Bride and the Beast 3. A kiss to remember 4. Fairest of them all..
Umm Yours Until Dawn is my FAVORITE historical and I have reread it multiple times (fyi it makes me sad that Teresa Medeiros doesn’t write anymore)! Also, LOVE LOVE LOVE Love in the Afternoon (my favorite Hathaways). They are definitely my two favorites to reread!
I recommend Then Came You before reading Dreaming of You, for character building context of Derek Craven (Craven is the heroin’s best friend, who has looked out for her for years, lots of protective vibes when the incoming hero vies for her affections - so fun!!) Plus I gave Then came you 5 stars (loved so much), Dreaming of You only 4 stars.
I love Historical romances 🥰 I'd rather read them than any other genre. I've read 8 out of the 12 books you mentioned. Dreaming of You is my favorite. It's one of my all time favorite LK books. I also loved Love in the Afternoon. Yours Until Dawn is my favorite Teresa Medeiros book. And that was a great twist towards the end. I didn't see it coming. Thanks for recommending Night Secrets by Kat Martin. I really liked it. I liked KM's style so much that I got as many of her backlist as possible. I ended up reading 26 of her Historicals. Out of the 26, I only disliked one. I wish she was still writing Historicals because they were so so good. ❤
I was never into romance novels but I have read a couple of your recommendations and enjoyed them so thank you for your summaries! May I make a suggestion? I find I miss some of your commentary, could you please not speak so fast? Thank you
You should read the Sutherland Series and Everard series by Greenwriter(aka Janelle Ruiz)!! It's a wattpad story but I swear, her stories are even better than these novels that you mentioned here. And I already read most of these so that's saying something. Just try it, you won't regret reading it. My first thought when I read Greenwriter's stories are where have I been all this time that I'm only reading these now? That's how good she is!
She writes badass heroines, witty, flawed but at the same time so awesome. If you enjoy Lisa Kleypas novels or the bridgerton series, you have to try it!
Love in the afternoon is sooo awesome. And I read dreaming of you i didn't like Derek craven at all that guy... I don't know... I feel like he was not faithful to the heroine though they are not yet in a relationship😅. And I just finished sins for all seasons series by Lorraine heath about trewlove family, a family of bastards of different lords. I'm totally in love with all the characters. All the books are awesome but the last two were soooo good
I read a Kat Martin science 😢fiction book and she wrote historical romance one is Vikings. My sister bought many books of her but she gave away. I cannot forgive my sister.
@@valeriag9443 scoundrel of my heart ❤️ I had been reading for more than one month is one of the most boring books. Do not finish it but I going to read the last two pages and end.
Still trying to finish matter of temptation but I am just not into instant love/attraction, I know in most historicals this happens but it is just rubbing me the wrong way, might be the talk of helping people through politics that I find boring.
The Scottish verses the British? You mean the Scottish verses the English. Everyone who lives in Great Britain and Northern Ireland (and British territories) is British, including Scottish people. Great Britain is comprised of Scotland, England and Wales and their associated islands. When we say the United Kingdom, we refer to Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The UK is a sovereign state, but its nations are also countries in their own right. British is not synonymous with English. English people are British, but not all British people are English. I often hear Americans refer to a particular (posh) English accent as British, when in fact Scottish, Northern Irish, Welsh and all other English accents are also British. Treating British as synonymous with English ignores the existence of millions of non-English British people. (I know this wasn’t your intention, it seems to be a common mistake!)

Love the HR content! Keep it coming! I hope you find your HR groove back so we can hear more recommendations 😀

Love in the Afternoon is my favorite Hathaway book.

I've been in a reading stump for a few months now. Let me give some of these a go
I hope these help!!

Wow, you read a lot! I’m hoping to get to more of Kat Martin’s backlist!!
I really loved Convergence of Desire by Felicity Niven and The Truth about Lord Stoneville by Sabrina Jeffries.
I want to try some historical romances this year. Any recs for books that are available in KU? 🤩
I was never into romance novels but I have read a couple of your recommendations and enjoyed them so thank you for your summaries! May I make a suggestion? I find I miss some of your commentary, could you please not speak so fast? Thank you
Where did you get your sweatshirt? I want one! I definitely want to read Yours until Dawn this year!

Hello from British Columbia Canada
🇨🇦🖐👍♥️❄☃️🌨🏂🚍🛣🌲🏒🦝🏒💜🥳🥶
I started reading scoundrel but was a disappointment and I feel bad because Lorraine is one of my favorites.😢
I love her books but they stress me out so much that I wish someone could spoil the third act conflict for me

I think Jess just needed a nap in this one. She had some slip ups, but you could get her point. Give her a little break 🧡
Yes, I know what it means to be British. I just misspoke! It happens!
It’s a novel. It’s a summary. No need to correct Jess on such a thing. Just enjoy the book.
