They both were looking for Tyr in secret initially giving Odin an easier time to trick them. That's the reason why when you meet Sindri at the forge he starts blaming himself more for the fact everything happened in his home. For the fact that even he was so blind to Tyr that his brother died when anyone else could've started asking questions. He gave the time he could've spent by his undead brother's side to Atreus. All to help figure out who Loki was gonna be and where Tyr was located. To close off your heart to pain and suffering means not understanding how Sindri feels. So they likely didn't feel it was right to mourn Brok if they sacrificed people to kill Odin. Sindri shows that he's closing off his heart during Ragnarok if anything. Which is why he noticeably becomes more and more distant and on edge. Part of that is having to endlessly think about the battle and the fact his brother is dead. When emotions and feelings are closed off it creates a deep black hole there seems to be no escape from. That's the hole Sindri has in his heart and begins to recognize lies under Kratos' exterior. The same thing that Kratos constantly held onto without saying anything. Expecting that his son will learn from him and learn not to become consumed the rage of vengeance. Sindri knows that he's consumed by it and can't really go back. Which is the look he gives Kratos as he has to start all over just as the God of War has done.
37:47 this is the best use of that good old F bomb in this entire game. (Apart from mimir’s reaction to garm’s release.) That expression of disbelief is very fitting for Brok, and I personally find it amusing in a scene so serious.
It's almost like sindri was telling Atreus that if he went to sleep that he would find "what he's looking for" almost like he knew what he had to do to go to ironwood
I feel like Sindri may have been close enough to Faye to know that's how to get to Ironwood. It would also explain why he took to Atreus so much if he was close enough friend to his mother
All characters in this game are so well written, designed, animated and voiced. It's hard to imagine the insane work they've done and I hope it got the success it deserved to prove once again that narrative games have value when done right.
Brok dropped the most exquisite of F-bombs. From the "What tha fuk!?", when Atreus turned into a bear. To the "think the fuk again!", when the realm doorway wouldn't work properly. Absolutely exquisite!
Looking back with these scenes is giving me parallels of Brok and Sindri's relationship from every character. The way there are rifts forming and bonds mending for every character. It just makes a bigger hole because I can only imagine what the dwarven brothers have been through leading to their assistance in both games. Freyr mourning Freya makes me think about Brok before being revived. The arguments remind me of how they were at odds in the game before. Where did all these feels come from and why can't I hold them?
I want to hope, really hope, that Sindri will be able to move on from this, forgive Atreus and apologize for how he treated everyone in this darkest moments after Brok's death. The last thing I want is to see him become consumed by rage. And eventually killed. It might be hopeless, but like Pandora says, Hope is all we have left to fight for when all else is lost.
Am I the only one who loves the chemistry (meaning friendship) that Sindri and Atreus have? As much as I love Brøk I also like Sindri because he helps Atreus even though it went against what Kratos would've said.
There's something I deeply wish Kratos would've done during the funeral, although it would've impacted the gameplay mechanic, which is giving Draupnir back to Sindri. It was the final weapon for a god that Brok helped make, and it even had his blessing. Maybe in the next game ... if there is gonna be one within Norse mythos, now that Odin is dead.
that would’ve been nice but that would set back kratos character development plus brok would want kratos to keep the spear plus kratos would keep it as a reminder of who brok was and how good of a friend he is

I agree that Draupnir was a vital part to Kratos character development, but I would still say the words he received, the scenarios that occured throughout the game, and the lessons he was indirectly taught both as a warrior, as an ally and as a father, was a larger part of said character development. That's why I feel like Draupnir should be given back to Sindri. Sindri was never told those words from Brok (at least not to our knowledge), and furthermore, Sindri was very attached to Draupnir. So it could serve as him getting both of the things he loved back, albeit to some degree; the ring he was reluctant to hand over, and a final memory of Brok.
