As a Christian, this is a really powerful piece to hear. So many people have been wounded and betrayed by religious hypocrisy. In scripture God says, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay." So many of us are convinced of our own righteousness and of the unrighteousness of others; so convinced, that we've forgotten that it isn't our own perceived righteousness that saves us, but instead it is the righteousness of Christ. I wonder how many of us will be on the painful end of that vengeance and repayment, for the part we played in rejecting others, and by doing so convincing them that God rejects them as well. Almost every time Jesus was angry in the Gospels, it was toward religious hypocrites who kept people from God. How incredibly blind we are, not to see what we have become. The Church has a lot of repenting to do, and lots of forgiveness to ask, both from God and from the people we have hurt in God's name. We have to do better.

I entirely agree! A lot of Christians judge other people, when we KNOW that it isn’t our place. But we are a place for sinners, and unfortunately, the clergy thinks they are above other people (my priest is very humble and he actually talks a lot about how we have to let God take over our lives. Not our interpretation, but love, because God IS love) anyway, I love this song so much 💛

As an atheist living with a highly religious family, I can relate. I don't hate them, no, and neither do they. But their judgement... Not just my family, but the whole society, the whole country... Can't they see how delicate I am? How weak I am?.. Why can't people live their lives the way they want without telling others to live the same way?
I hear ya. Can't count # of times been told I'm going to hell, if I go to church it will heal my pain & disease. A few episodes were so horrible I've PTSD from it. Whenever it's brought up I still try to be polite & "agree to disagree," which is how it should be! If person doesn't take the hint & keeps pushing, I can get meaner than a constipated Drill Sargent with bleeding hemorrhoids & a bad case of crabs he got from his cheating wife. As far as being weak & delicate, why do you feel that way? If you give off that vibe people WILL take advantage of it. Might as well paint a target on your butt. Predators always go after the easiest prey. Having a kind, gentle heart is a good thing but it must be protected. "Emotional Armor," is what we call it. Take some self-defense classes. Most towns have RAD, Rape Aggression Defense, classes. This will help confidence.

Recently discovered Echos, and every one of their songs so far has really hit me. Not in a 'this really slaps' way - it does slap, but that's not why. Instead it hits me because it tells stories of heartbreak, torment, and internal struggle. In "Vacant", it reminds me of myself, how often I feel like the emotions I show are just for display, and I'm actually empty inside. In "Guest Room", it makes me remember days when I had someone to love and hold, before I threw it away, and makes me long for a day when I've let them go and found someone new. In "Saints", it reminds me of the hypocrisy I faced from several churches I attended in my youth - their intolerance of people who are different than they are, and their rejection of those in most need of their help.

When you watch this video and watch it with care. With the music and all. This is truly an outstanding piece of music, non stop chills, and it feels like there is so much meaning deep meaning in the video and in the words. I loved it gave me goosebumps.

this song also has the most wonderful blend of instruments. those percussion hits are BRUTAL. the distorted synth horn is damning. that orchestral postlude is haunting. the band did such a great job putting all of the elements together. this is quite unlike any synthpop I've heard.
