I don't think the pets are the concern, rather than her attitude of arrogance, like Yeongja said, where her boyfriend is concerned. Saying so easily that he will never leave her and if he did the same, she'd hit him is just horrible of her. It shows that he's there just for her own convenience. though I don't doubt that she does probably love him, the love she has for herself surpasses that even more and when you're in a relationship, you can't be that way. It has to be 50/50. I don't think she's good for him, no matter how much he loves her. He'll be burnt out and very emotionally drained at the end of it. Unless she changes (which I don't think she will), I sincerely hope he finds someone else who's willing to meet him halfway in the relationship.

It's bad for her health because she stressed and obsesses over them to the point where she can't function like the average person. She can't leave her home for worrying about them. She gets depressed and spends the majority of her time tending to them to the point where she has no other interests. It's bad for the animals because it's a small space for them. Its animal hoarding. And lastly, it's not good for the boyfriend because they can't get married due to the fact that he has to spend 90% of his income for those pets. He can't get time with his girlfriend because of her attention to the pets.

If 90% of their income is going towards the pets, then the other 10% are for basic survival, I assume, and bill. I love animals and I have 2 dogs and 5 cats . Is rly hard to give them all attention I can't imagine with 17 . She should donate 10 and keep 7. She should find a nice house for them or open a cat cafe with the 17 cats this way they would stay in the cafe, she would have a job and her UA-cam channel would make her cafe known by people .

He is a catch. I see my old self in her to some degree. I love animals a lot, suffered depression, insomnia, even anemia and was bad at eating and I also love hoodies. But a partner needs to be a priority and she needs to work hard on her own health and well being if she wants her emotions to come back from the dead (depression) and be able to express love for the partner and for herself. I suspect that she feels like she has no worth and doesn't deserve him and like it's only a matter of time before he leaves and then the animals are what will give enough love for her to survive that loss that feels inevitable and that she is shielding herself from feeling too attached to him just in case. I think she experiences that only that much love from that many animals is the only thing that gives any positive feelings inside because depression is so loud and strong. I think she feels purpose in rescuing and possibly with abandonment issues she might feel terrified to adopt out because she doesnt want to abandon and inflict that feeling on someone else. I think she knows she is in over her head. I'm so glad I was too poor when I was in her shoes or I probably would have also ended up overwhelmed. I did find a man like this guy and he was the one that ended up curing me and he too loves animals as much as I do and helped me feel worthy so I hope she opens up her heart to him despite the fear of getting hurt and I hope she finds the way out of her depression. Those two can really be destined to last if she does win the battle within. :) On a funnier note I used to also have a fear of cats and I know exactly what he means about scary eyes. My tip to him would be to find a cat that lives with children and that he can see that the cat is kind and tolerant of the kids because when I met that kind of cat I thought "if you can handle a 3 year old you can handle me" and that cat ended up curing my phobia. Life is much easier when you overcome your fears. :)

I too have rescued stray cats many times and sometimes permanently adopted them, but only after making sure I could provide for them so it wouldn't be a burden on others. This is funny- I am watching myself in the person of that girl. We have 9 different kinds of dogs plus 4 newly- born puppies. They live with us in the house. And like that girlfriend, I have no intention of giving away any one of them bc I am so attached. I rarely leave the house,too, bc of them.

I love animals and I have 2 dogs and 5 cats . Is rly hard to give them all attention I can't imagine with 17 . She should donate 10 and keep 7. She should find a nice house for them or open a cat cafe with the 17 cats this way they would stay in the cafe, she would have a job and her UA-cam channel would make her cafe known by people .

He is a catch. I see my old self in her to some degree. I love animals a lot, suffered depression, insomnia, even anemia and was bad at eating and I also love hoodies. But a partner needs to be a priority and she needs to work hard on her own health and well being if she wants her emotions to come back from the dead (depression) and be able to express love for the partner and for herself. I suspect that she feels like she has no worth and doesn't deserve him and like it's only a matter of time before he leaves and then the animals are what will give enough love for her to survive that loss that feels inevitable and that she is shielding herself from feeling too attached to him just in case. I think she experiences that only that much love from that many animals is the only thing that gives any positive feelings inside because depression is so loud and strong. I think she feels purpose in rescuing and possibly with abandonment issues she might feel terrified to adopt out because she doesnt want to abandon and inflict that feeling on someone else. I think she knows she is in over her head. I'm so glad I was too poor when I was in her shoes or I probably would have also ended up overwhelmed. I did find a man like this guy and he was the one that ended up curing me and he too loves animals as much as I do and helped me feel worthy so I hope she opens up her heart to him despite the fear of getting hurt and I hope she finds the way out of her depression. Those two can really be destined to last if she does win the battle within. :)
On a funnier note I used to also have a fear of cats and I know exactly what he means about scary eyes. My tip to him would be to find a cat that lives with children and that he can see that the cat is kind and tolerant of the kids because when I met that kind of cat I thought "if you can handle a 3 year old you can handle me" and that cat ended up curing my phobia. Life is much easier when you overcome your fears. :)
She's manipulative, saying "if that's how he feels, maybe we shouldn't marry" when in fact her boyfriend's complaints are perfectly reasonable. I too have rescued stray cats many times and sometimes permanently adopted them, but only after making sure I could provide for them so it wouldn't be a burden on others. She's just using him, giving him hope so she can to continue leeching off him. He needs to break up with her and find someone better.

I feel that it doesn't seem like she listens to what he feels. The boyfriend talked about their plans to get married by 28, and they have to save up till then. But it seems like the girlfriend's not really going on with it by taking in more pets and spending much more money on them daily. Could it be possible that the girl doesn't really like him as much, but accepts him because he loves her a lot?
The boyfriend obviously loves her, if not he wouldn't have willingly spent 90% of his income for his girlfriend to use for the care of the pets. Yes, he might also be an animal lover himself and shows sympathy to animals living in poor conditions. But as he said, there's a limit to his tolerance and capabilities. Furthermore, their situation is to the point that it's affecting the boyfriend's way of life. He has to spend less on himself for the pets. But it does not mean that he will be okay to keep up with all the shit for life. As Shin Dongyub said, he could be talking with his parents and be like "She seems nice, but I don't think i suit her/she suits me" kind of thing.
As for the girlfriend, she has empathy for animals but she does not seem to have any goal or foresight in life. All her life is about caring for her pets at home and doesn't really go out. On one hand she has a good heart but on the other hand she's simply taking her boyfriend's love and dedication to her for granted. And this goes back to my point that she doesn't love him as much as he loves her, but just wants to be with him simply because he takes the initiative to love her, care for her and support her (materialistically) no matter what she's doing.
So what is the solution? To be honest, it seems like the boyfriend is on one hand worried about whether they could marry as planned initially, but on the other hand, he wants his girlfriend to be happy, so he simply just wants his girlfriend to spend a little bit more time with him. He compromises so much, but how long more can he withstand? Meanwhile, the girlfriend unwillingly compromises. She's not even happy to spend time with him (she rather spend all her time and a lot of the money they have on pets). Are they really bf-gf? If the girlfriend continues to keep up this way despite the guy expressing his concern to her and insists on her way of living, then I feel that the guy should cut her off asap. He loves her but he won't be happy living with her for the rest of his life ASSUMING the girlfriend remains like this for an indefinite period of time.
He really should just leave her and find someone else because she's obviously not ready and way to immature, as well as extremely selfish. There are so many good girls in the world!! I hate that all the good guys always go for the worse girls, let yourself live better man!!
