I just bought a 84 s-10 2.8 4 speed and it’s in amazing shape ! It needs some tlc but it’s straight no rust and I got it CHEAP! Can’t wait to start on it .
It’s so nice to find the survivors! I inherited my grandpas 1986 s10 when he passed, I live in nc and it was bought brand new local to where I live so super clean rust free southern truck, my grandpa took super good care of and only 170,000 on it! 2.8 4 speed as well
I bought a 93 GMC Sonoma last summer and I'm doing all the work on it myself, my first project car. Nice video man I hope my truck is as badass as yours one day soon👌
Cutout with a down turn at the cab. I remember I was having work done on my s10 and had to drive it somewhere without the exhaust manifold and it was obnoxiously loud (2.8 tbi v6) that same truck is now parked failed smog in 2016 so now it's waiting for me to have time and parts for a v8 swap
Since this it was all stock besides the drop and straight pipe but I actually lost compression in two cylinders and got the forbidden chocolate milk on my dip stick so I got the long block rebuilt and I just got it started today my buddy is coming tomorrow to weld up my dump pipe it should be back on the road soon I went ahead and got the seat re upholstered and headliner I tried to document as much as I could to put a video together so hopefully when I go to edit it’s not all over the place lol
I had a GMC 2.8v6. The driver is revving it as good as it gets without bending rods and blowing a head gasket. My mom floored mine until it died. She killed everything inside, blew the head gasket and cracked the block in just 7s on an icy hill. The 2.8 still sounds great! I think it's the best sounding V6 ever built.
Completely stock 2.8 just took the muffler and resonator out, and lowered it lol my timing is a bit advanced I believe that’s why it pops so much, need to fix it just keep putting it off lol
Don’t know if this caused it (prob did) but lost compression in two cylinders and got the 2.8 completely rebuilt, it doesn’t pop like this anymore but I do still hear small backfires here and there

This truck sounds awesome with a lil 171 inch 60 degree v6.
Ngl, wild sounding for jus a lil 2.8l. Kinda wanna hear it with a single out 2.5 to 3 inch straight pipe!
Makes me want to find my old s10 and buy it back
I love it, I got a 98 2.2l with ebay headers and a cat delete with stock muffler
I miss my S10 on the road dont wana pass smog inspection 😢
Honestly mine prob wouldn’t pass inspection but eh I’ll worry about it when I get there 😂
Pretty sure pops and flames on my s10 was cuz of a huge exhaust leak
Man it sounds just like my old one, I had a cam though, sounded great. 1985 carbureted
It will run better if you set the timing advanced
Man my truck was running bad like that, check your timing mine was at 20 degrees advanced, turned it down to 10 and got new gas, runs like a top
whats your idle set at? like 2 grand?
No rpm tach so can’t tell but it’s definitely too high lol
🔥🔥🔥🔥
How rich were these tuned stock to backfire like that? Lol
RICH
Turn a set of chrome exhaust tips black in 6 months rich.
I’ve been debating on getting similar wheels! What size and brand did you go with? Thanks!
i got myself a running 93 2.8 5 speed manual for like 400
I got a 93 s10 aswell with a straight pipe how in the world did u get it this loud

this is tuned right?
Not rly it’s the stock tune it dumps a lot of gas
What is the exact setup, this sounds so good for a 2.8
Everything is stock except no cat or muffler and replaced that junk with about 1’ of pipe and dumped it down/sideways
Contact me If you wanna hear good sounding 2.8
@@ikonik6286 you got one I have a 2.8 I'm about to rebuild and probably change from flow masters to something else and I need ideas haha
@@ikonik6286 I wanna hear
Dude that sound is magical is there anything else done to the truck?

bro i feel bad for the neighbors lol
now you just need to wire up a rev limiter just so you can hit it on every shift

Bro no way thats just a stock straight pipe, Shi sounds like it has a 2 step init
Completely stock 2.8 just took the muffler and resonator out, and lowered it lol my timing is a bit advanced I believe that’s why it pops so much, need to fix it just keep putting it off lol
are you sure that engine is v6 2.8 liter not v6 4.3 liter
deffinitley a 2.8 lol if you know anything about s10's you can tell by the sound.
@@ModernBeastx1 I’m not into s10 engines but this sounds like a good ass v8 fr maybe in person u can tell better it’s a v6
How can I get mine to pop like that ?
It’ll do it if you’re running too rich
@@warhob7695 that’s not good 🤣
@@LuisRodriguez-wy2xp nope but it’ll do it lmao
Oh yeah bout to do my exhaust rn
Makes me wanna put my s10 back together faster
Do it!!!
Doing this very soon
I want one
It’s so much fun!!
You get problems with the cops
In south Texas I haven’t got pulled over once since having the truck, I hope I didn’t just jinx myself lol
And I daily it
You will unseat your valves having that much popping with stock springs
Don’t know if this caused it (prob did) but lost compression in two cylinders and got the 2.8 completely rebuilt, it doesn’t pop like this anymore but I do still hear small backfires here and there
