He believes in God but this video changed my life (I’m 26 male) can’t believe the way love ends like If I can’t have the kids than nobody can same with her. So sad And I respect you if you don’t reply but I thought I would try as Tje family probably still needs closure. We heard the man say even his whole Family is freaking out because he did this, nobody expected it. It’s hard to see the monster we had an amazing interrogator best I’ve ever seen as a matter of fact and that was only key parts “He killed them all”

I heard some crazy testimonies from killers before but this is by far the most insane and selfish act of murder I have ever came across. No fucking excuse he could give to end his own children's life. I really cant.

@@JustbeingSheShe mental illness/illnesses are or can be different for each person. One that struggles mentally can too go as far as killing people especially if emotions are involved. They are MENTALLY ILL aka not thinking properly! Who knows what a person would do if they are mentally ill. Mental illness has a wide range and isn’t as simple as y’all may think. But that’s why ppl have to try and help themselves and others need to be aware and learn what to and what not to do around a mentally ill person. (But that does not justify this man’s actions! If he was mentally unstable or ill though then that just brings some insight
@@kymmils11 He was not mentally ill. I didn't personally know her, but I do know the family. I will say this, he was not mentally ill, he made a bad choice that ended the life of her, the kids, then ultimately himself.

I’ve lived here all my life. Our city does have its troubles like most places. This story is very heartbreaking. However, with the bad there is good. There are many good people here. Just be careful who you choose to associate with.
I live in Columbus too. As the years go by it gets worse and worse. I just hope all this crime can calm down

This is my uncles daughter my cousin basically. I am Amari Spellman. I haven’t seen this in 2 years. First time seeing this. I love y’all. I miss y’all ❣️she didn’t deserve that nor did her kids.
He is a lier why kill the kids than no its not difficult for him to talk about it she was fighting with him to keep him from killing her he picked up the knife and kill her first so she wouldn't try to stop him from killing the kids just because she said she was leaving him he wasn't going to let that happen.

They really treated him with so much kindness and compassion which is extremely bizarre to watch. Those innocent defenseless children died because he didn’t want anyone else to raise/ discipline his kids. Then the coward committed suicide behind bars.
Because theyve seen and heard worse that's why this is their job and only God can judge his heart not them those without sin cast the first stone

This made the story even more sad to me because I believed him. I'm not saying that to try and justify what he did. There is no justification for that. I was 10 years old when my mother was brutally murdered in her home. She was also stabbed and also fought for her life. I know that kind of pain and it's never okay. I believed him when he said why he chose to murder his children. Because I have also struggled with mental illness and my son is the only reason I'm still here. I have found myself so hopeless before that I was ready to check out. But my son doesn't have anyone but me and there is no way I'd leave him behind. Because I wouldn't be able to make sure that he's loved and fed and happy. Safe. Fortunately for me I was still thinking somewhat rationally and I made a phone call to get help. My son is almost a grown man now and I'm stable. I still struggle with depression and hopelessness, it is a battle that I will fight for the rest of my life because my mental issues are a result of a brain tumor and brain trauma from surgery to remove it. The parts of my brain that are responsible for moods and hormones were too damaged. I have to stay on top of myself and my mental status and recognize when I'm going downhill. We'll be okay. I pray for the loved ones who were hurt by his actions and for those babies who never had a chance to live. As well as their mother. She didn't deserve to die either.
I commend u for your strength and honesty. I’ve been through a lot as well but your a reminder that anything is possible if we just hang in there. Thank u for sharing. I honestly believe this young man just lost control of his emotions in that moment. I feel his sincerity when he asked God for forgiveness. But those poor babies and their mother. God be with us. The world is full of disgust and hate and I sometimes can’t wait until he comes to end it all 🤷🏽♀️
@@mstaylor8110 I agree completely. I only shared it because it might help someone else understand. Mental illness is still something whispered about in the Black community especially. When I was going through the worse days of my life I couldn't talk about it with my family. There's an expectation of strength and being depressed is something that we're expected to just snap out of. Get it together. It's embarassing to share my struggles with complete strangers and open myself up to judgement but I will keep sharing whenever I think it's needed. I don't want anyone else to suffer in silence and I hope that reading what I have to say might help them speak up. Our children depend on us to protect them. Much of our trauma is generational and I do not want my child to carry the weight of my burdens.

I'd expect nothing less than severe mental/emotional distress, being in the same home when your mom was murdered, let alone witness it. @@ieyeasha suffocation also causes pain, fear, and distress. A person who is suffocated or strangled fights like hell because it is an instinct. You have to be able to breathe. The same goes for why people will curl up into the fetal position or put their arms around their heads when being attacked or at the threat of an attack. Even babies. It is hardwired into every one of us to automatically protect the organs and body systems that we must have to live. Curling up into a fetal position is how we try to protect our most vital internal organs. It's self preservation and one of the things that has enabled the human race to continue to live on and evolve. We are all born with those instincts.
My point is that a person being murdered is going to suffer unless it is something that we don't see coming and causes instant death. There is no way that is more or less brutal than another because of the body's fight or flight response. They all cause pain and suffering, period.
But as I states in my original comment I do not condone his actions and am not attempting to make excuses for what he did. It is inexcusable. I'm not trying to influence or sway other people's opinions or feelings. I only said that I believed his story and why. I shared a part of my own story to show why I hace empathy. I don't expect others to have empathy because empathy is only gained from personal experience whereas sympathy is an emotion that we all can feel because it is a feeling of sadness and sorrow for something that we haven't experienced ourselves but can imagine how one feels or what gets them to that point. It in no way absolves their guilt and it is an emotion that can be felt with another such as anger. Just because I am empathetic does not mean that I don't feel anger for his actions or sadness for his victims. It doesn't require a debate, nor does it require responses like yours that suggests that he should have chosen a less painful way to murder them to gain empathy or sympathy.

I remember this cause I worked in law enforcement with her brother in law . She has three more children but in custody of their other father. She was a stripper in Columbus. This was really a sad and horrible incident. I pray her family and his. It had the city in tears
