    Love the vids man! Keep it up! Ever thought about making a video on chord progressions while improving? You seemingly come up with the most beautiful progressions out of nowhere.

    Honestly it felt like 3mins, then I realised is actually 20mins. The lesson was so good that I didn’t notice 20mins had gone. Great Teacher. I think you should do downloadable lessons, I really want to buy your lessons but I can’t stay online all the time.

    Vous faites un travail magnifique. Comment pourrais-je réaliser une vidéo identique techniquement ? clavier réel en-dessous, clavier virtuel au-dessus, vidéo de ma tête au-dessus et les accords joués. Merci pour tout.
    You do a magnificent job. How could I make a technically identical video? real keyboard underneath, virtual keyboard above, video of my head above and chords played. Thank you for everything.

      @SkilledMusician  5 років тому

      You definitely need cameras and video editing software. We also utilize a software program called Chordie for the virtual keyboard, by a guy on UA-cam named Matkat Music. Here are my affiliate links to the software in case you want to purchase it:

    Hey man! I have a random question. You were randomly doing chords at around 2:37. You did a chord that showed up as a Gmin13 (9,#11)/D. I’m having a hard time understanding that chord because normally you wouldn’t add the tension #11 or b5 with a Min 13. I’ve seen them with Minor 11 chords. Where you breaking any rules by doing that or did you omit some notes. If you omitted something, maybe this could be called another chord. I’m just wondering. Thanks for your great video. They are tremendous!!

    • @SkilledMusician
      @SkilledMusician  2 роки тому

      Thanks for reaching out! Great question! Actually it was supposed to be a Dmin 6/9 (11), followed by a C#dim7, followed by Dmin/B. Unfortunately, I kept the sustain pedal down too long and the notation software added the notes of C#dim7 to the Dmin chord I had already played and tried to figure out this new chord with tons of notes…. Great question!

      @@SkilledMusician Thanks man! I’m trying to stop doing that. I’m such a theory person that it limits me sometimes. However, I was curious about that. Thanks again. I have learned so much from your videos. So informative!

    Great video Cory! Thank you very much. QUESTION: Would you learn each key in any particular order? Circle of 5ths. . . relative minor. . . or?

    • @SkilledMusician
      @SkilledMusician  6 років тому +1

      I have a few ways that I generally go about it. Definitely in 4ths, in 5ths, in minor 3rds, chromatically, and many times in as random a fashion as possible. I'll then try to apply the ideas in a harmonic setting. Hope this helps!

    How do you know what chords to put in passing chords and how to use different chords. I have a keyboard encyclopedia book and I’m learning those chords but I don’t no how to put chords together. I know my number system and how to use major minor and chords but it’s putting different chords together. I know this chord progression in all keys 3 4 halfstep 5 halfstep 6 7 1 but I don’t no other chords in between
