Do you wear or recommend wearing a retention holster to civilians? Also do you recommend carrying your gun with the safety on if it has one? Lastly do you recommend carrying a backup gun? Statistically 1 out of 10 officer's murdered in the line of duty are killed with their own guns. I know that some officers have been saved because of their backup guns. One was on rescue 911 years ago. The pero was trying wrestle his primary gun away when he pulled his backup and shot him in the stomach. I'm also aware that some officers have been saved by the safety catch on their guns. I'm not familiar with anyone being saved by a retention holster but they have been around for a long time so it makes sense that they have probably saved officers.

I think a retention holster is better than caring your gun with the safety on.
