Some years ago German Puerto Rico whatever jubilee edition was 1/5 of that. Ten years ago with better exchange rate the basic CoB game was closer to 300 SEK
5000 could buy you like a GTX 1080..
I hope there will be a standard-size box edition with just the QOL upgrades (the reference sheets, plastic overlays, dual sided boards, explanations on the backs of the tiles, additional duchy boards) and aesthetic upgrades (custom dice, trade good tiles, etc.) without all the plastic miniatures. Yes, I know the "Classic" edition did this, but it still requires you to get the massive oversize box, which is what I don't want. These monstrous editions are fine for people who want them, but I'd like a version that I can carry to my board game group meetups without needing a forklift. ;-)
So glad this game has finally gotten the aesthetic makeover it so much deserves.
Excited to get this. Just looking at a design POV. Just see a little disconnect in the design with the dice with the entire “look” of the game. Also looking at the playerboards and vineyards dice symbology with the straight edged corners of the die. Now the the dice has rounded edges and circular border on the actual pips and rounded corners. They should’ve left the dice the same style as the prototype samples just without all the decorative arrows. It would’ve looked more consistent across the board. Such a small thing, i know. But that definitely stands out the most. Obviously the change was made after feedback from the content creators. It was probably rushed to change them last minute. The cyan also seems like a lighter shade as well.
This looks amazing. I am so glad that I backed the biggest pledge with all the options. I would be sad not to get these amazing components otherwise😅
Looks awesome. A gamer in our group ordered it. Can’t wait! Te castles of mad king Ludwig collectors edition is incredible too. The storage is off the charts.
Super excited for this! Awaiting my majestic pledge with everything upgraded! Hopefully there will be stickers with text on them for the acrylic tiles soon. I wish they would’ve put in the video a demonstration of using the upgraded terrain pack. The process of grabbing them from storage to playing them on your board so we could see the ease of use in practice.

Most definitely. Lets face it: the other versions are pretty boring looking and not everyone like the "dry euro look". This production pops and will make people to want to play it for sure.

There will be a retail version of the Special Edition.
But, it will only include the cardboard tiles and not include acrylic tiles, the neopren mat or 3D-models (besides the castles).
AR i hope you will get more games in collaboration for special editions.

What would be nice if the stuff that's "extra" was clearly marked, instead of having a "blink and you'll miss it" few seconds of text blending into the style everything else uses...
So far, the castles were the only bits I spotted. Might be others, it's really not clearly shown here... :-/

SO excited for this! It's so good to see this game finally end up in the right hands to give it the love and aesthetics it deserves. However, is this the sundrop version? The colors aren't as vibrant as expected compared to photos from updates :/. I'm wondering if I shouldn't have done the sundrop version...

I'm pretty much 100% sure they are normal metal. I was wondering the naming of that part as well. I see no reason for them to use real silver for the coins... would cost so much more than just normal metal.
