I love how in Justice League Action, there is an episode that is dedicated to a reformed Riddler who assists Green Arrow and Wonder Woman in searching for Batman, and once they find him and the Joker at a Pop Art exhibit, the Joker takes psychological advantage of the Riddler's compulsion to answer a riddle when asked one, highlighting his OCD.
Same especially since I have a mental illness myself
Like in the Dark Knight, Joker likes to manipulate anyone with mental issues
2005 The Batman's Riddler had the most interesting concept. It made sooo much sense in the modern era for The Riddler to be an information hacker. Hacking valuable secret information and being a compulsive trivia king who can't help but provide the means to defeat him if only you are smart enough to beat his riddles. In a live action film he could go from a goofball gimmick to a brilliant information hacker with a streak of the Zodiac Killer in his playtime with the authorities.
I agree with you that The Batman's Riddler is one of the best. However the Riddler in Telltale's Batman is probably the best kind of style to do for a film in the current environment.
I mostly like his backstory
Batman Vs superman would have been so much better if Jessie Eisenberg was riddler instead of lex Luther. And they should have cast Brian cranston as the real lex
ScionStorm I think his character design is really cool compared to the others
I really love the Gotham one. I think it's the best the riddler has ever looked
The Riddler being a detective is kind of a neat idea
For some time in the comics he reformed and actually worked as a detective.
Check out Riddlers Reform from BTAS if you want to see The Riddler turn over a new leaf.
"I have Google like the rest of the world." LOL
“ riddle me this. Why didn’t I quit when I was ahead?”

OMG that was soo funny🤣🤣🤣
Ahh that's Amanda said that right?
"What's green and found in your WALLET?!"

*"Not anymore!"*
This year's Man of the year award goes to...
Bruce wayne!
"Riddle me THIS, What's green and found in your wallet? "
"Money-?"
"not ANYMORE!"
I love lego DC villains they never failed to make me laugh😂
Freddy Kruger voiced the 2005 animated Riddler?!
That is actually really cool🤔
@KHARUNISA AISA BINTI ALIZA Moe I know who portrayed Freddy Krueger, I was just surprised he voiced an incarnation of the Riddler is what I meant.
In Injustice 2, he played Scarecrow.
Zesty Riddler
Riddler will be and always will be one of my favorite Batman villains
Mine too.
I think he's a bit underrated
Cluemaster was underrated, at least to me.Riddler managed to deduce Batman's identity. He is the second to deduce Batman's identity, the first being Hugo Strange. He's someone that works behind the scenes, in fact, that is what I liked about the Arkham Riddler.
Azumarill_TF2 they need to make him darker, like in the Arkham Verse, he’s perfect there
My favorite villain too.
The suit is always the best look. I love how the Arkham series basically made him into Jigsaw with the death traps. Makes him into his own villain instead of just crappy joker
LOL What? One, The joker is FAR from "cRaPpY" in ANY way as he's one of the best complex pure evil villains of all time, and two The Riddler was the jigsaw killer WAY before the jigsaw killer was even a thing with his death traps as he's been known to place people into life and death scenarios WAY before jigsaw was even a thing at all in the first Saw movie.
@@Gadget-Walkmen I didn’t say Joker was crappy. I said that it made him unique from the joker instead of riddler being a “lesser” version of him
I'd actually rather love his suit from assault on arkham. It's very stylish.
It is, it was based on his design from Batman: Arkham City.
I too prefer his Arkham City look.👍
I also like the justice league action suit as well
@@maccyninja6061 That’s because the movie takes place after Arkham Origins
Animated series riddler is my favorite.
juugito9987 us he actually WON his first few appearances because the writers wanted to show how smart he was. It didn't last because, well... you can't have the villain every time, but heck if he didn't earn it.
That’s my favorite version of him also, but it’s a shame that he only had three major episodes in the series.
Too bad they didn't use the right clip.
Me too..
Agreed. Bad example clip used. John Glover's voice was intelligent, arrogant but personable at the same time. His pre-revamp costume was perfect.
The Riddler is my favourite DC villain. He is so underrated.
Are you not acknowledging Killer Moth? He is the definition of underrated. Although yes Riddler is very underrated and is my second favorite villain.
@@vaderwise7090 of course you'd say that Eddie

yeah i'm starting to think that Rob may have been the best Riddler
I wanna see more Rob Paulsen Riddler XD
The 2004 version of the Riddler has always been my favorite version making him really unique and amazing .
What 2004 version
@@WorstDBDPlayer from the Batman 2004 series
Riddler is my favorite villain because he's just a guy who's realistically mentally ill. I'm not a huge fan of the early cheesy stuff but his more serious incarnations are legendary. I could actually see the Riddler being a real thing and that's what I love about him
I wasn't a fan of the early cheesy stuff, until I actually **watched** the 1966 version. He goes from goofy to serious, and is now my favourite incarnation of the villain.
Stupid spray tho
I love it when Weird Al Yankovic does voice acting.
He is quite good.
One of his many many MANY talents
Yeah, this isn't even his only DC role. Apparently he played Gentleman Ghost in a Teen Titans movie, Darkseid in the show itself and Dollmaker in Batman vs Robin a legitimately creepy role.
Riddler: "Riddle me this, Batman! What wears a mask and is unconscious?"
Batman: "You,"
I’m surprised my favorite is the 2004 Batman Riddler. His voice is just so unsettling. My favorite episode is when he plays 20 questions with Batman to find out his secret identity. He has his hand on the mask and can easily take it off. But he says that is just too easy. Probably the most hardcore gamer of all time honestly
Defiantly one of the best Riddlers
I'm not quite fond of how he's just kind of become a discount joker lately, but I loved it when Matt Grey Gubler played him
Frank Stevenson mattthew fits him so well
Biggest surprises were Robert Englund, a.k.a. Freddy Krueger, and Brent Spiner, a.k.a. Data of “Star Trek TNG”.
I never saw him as a discount joker
@@drren2134 The Adam West series did. Or they considered the Joker to be a clownier version of the Riddler...
Richard Thompson ok
9:45
That joke was so bad not even the Joker could laugh at it.
Despite what some people might think of him, I actually really like the Riddler... He's one of my top three, still being beat out by Scarecrow (who's my #2 favie), and Bane (My #1 favie). I mean, I like Joker and all, but where he has intelligence, he also has... Crippling insanity. Riddler's crazy, sure, but he's not Joker crazy. He's methodical, thinks about the plan, as well as two to three backup plans in case the first plan fails.
Ohhh, not Joker crazy? Have you read Dark Knight Dark City? Riddler is really fucked up in that story.
Okay, so maybe he's SOMETIMES joker crazy...
Yesss! Scarecrow for the win!!
To be fair, Riddler was possessed by a demon In that story.
My top 3 is Ra's al Ghul, Riddler and Poison Ivy.
And to think, we wouldn't have the modern version of Riddler, nor really any Riddler, without Frank Gorshin. He put so much energy in that performance, maybe because unlike the other actors he actually liked the comics. The famous catchphrases, the intelligence brought to it. He even came up with the modern Riddler costume, the green suit/coat and derby hat. Before him it was only the spandex bodysuit. We owe a lot to Frank.
The animated episode with Riddler when he uses virtual reality is just the same episode which was presented by Black mirrors so far. I am really impressed how intellectual the authors of the animated series were to predict so much for the future at the same time make it so “cartoonic”
Riddler is one of the lit villains in Batman's rogues gallery
Rent?????
Jøack Ab YOULL get your rent when you fix this damn door!!!
The Riddler is my all time favorite villain. Especially in Arkham games. I just love doing all the puzzles and stretchin my mind (Even if they’re not that hard). I love how he’s so smart.
Really, this list should’ve included Jim Carrey’s Riddler - he’s a cartoon all unto himself
You must've not watched the very end.
Unfortunately he was included
I love the Justice League Action version of Riddler. Wish DC kept him like that
To be honest, while it is nice to see Riddler as a hero, he is better as a villain.
Maybe but he was fun as a detective.
Maybe more of a vigilante detective, sorta like Rorsharch.
I liked him as a dectective in Justice League Action, but he would be labeled as an "anti-hero" in my opinion.
Although that version was redeemed, he still has his OCD and narcissism
“RIDDLE ME THIS! What’s green, and found… IN YOUR WALLET?”
“Uh, money?”
“NOT ANYMORE!”
Riddler’s a savage
So basically the Riddler is the dumbest genius and I love him.
Why dumb?
From what I’ve seen in from the general public, riddler must have sprayed them all with stupid spray years ago.
Unpopular opinion, Robert England’s Riddler is the best Riddler yet, actually , the only one I can take seriously.
Robert Englund's portrayal of The Riddler (2005) is the best depiction of the character. In previous iterations, he just seemed more laughable and goofy whereas the 2005 version was genuinely scary and menacing.
4:19 Robert Englund? BUT THAT'S FREDDY KRUEGER!
You think that's crazy, you know who plays Scarecrow in Injustice 2
Guess who?!
“Welcome to Prime Time, Bitch!”
Riddle me this who voiced the vulture in the spectacular spider-man cartoon?
“I have google.” xD
Slayed.
*RiDdLe Me ThIs*
💀
I absolutely LOVE Riddler's look in Assault on Arkham. But then, I heard Brent Spiner as the Riddler, and he is perfect for the role! Combine those two aspects, and I'm sold!
Imagine tom hiddleston as the riddler of justice league action or assault on arkham
Oh my god yes!
He would be a great Riddler or maybe Joker.
Ooh! Now THAT is a live action Riddler I can get behind!
Yesyesyes
7:57 whats with jokers adorable chubby face!? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
YES!! You did it! Thank you for making an evolution video of my favourite DC character.
Man all these riddler moments very few actual riddles for some reason
The fact that Robert Englund has voiced my two favorite DC characters makes me very happy
I think that the Arkham Series' Riddler had to be my favourite, because in each of the four games, you can see how desperate Riddler becomes to just try and outsmart or defeat Batman, and how he just tries so hard to make himself a more "superior intellectual" than the world's greatest detective. So far to the point that it just shows how OBSESSED Riddler is just to try and beat Batman, not in combat, but in wits and intellect.
In Arkham Origins, you can see that even before Edward became the Riddler, he used to be completely fine - tacky and smug, sure, but that was just the beginning of Riddler as he takes an interest in Batman and how he always beats his puzzles and riddles. As you follow the storyline of the quadrilogy of the games, you can see that his obsession with trying to outsmart Batman gets out of hand, and he looks and sounds more and more like a complete wreck, and was even mentioned to barely even eat or bathe because all he talked about was trying to beat Batman. That's why I love the Arkham Riddler, because of how he tries so hard to beat Batman, and is too afraid to admit that the Dark Knight is his intellectual superior on an equal, or greater level than him.
But in all honestly, the only con I can think of about the Arkham Riddler is the fact that you have to find/solve HUNDREDS of his riddles, which are all a pain in the ads to find or solve. Still, it's at least worth it in the end when you can finally PHYSICALLY fight Riddler in Arkham Knight.
OMG riddler had a PINK phase
No, the cartoon had a color blind cartoonist.
oriana garrido when?
MLG: Confirmed Did you not watch the second Riddler clip? He was wearing pink spandex instead of green.
Did you look it up? The Riddler was off limits to this show because owned by Hanna Barbara's Super Friends. So was never in the show. Only a miscolored Riddler was allowed in the opening. So no, The Riddler didn't have a pink phase. batman.wikia.com/wiki/The_New_Adventures_of_Batman
Cycoopsblast I know, it is why he wasn't in any of the episodes unfortunately.
1968 Riddler took lessons from Captain Kirk, I see.
At 2:02 how in the hell did Riddler jump so high while being suspended in the air and in Superman's grip! I call shenanigans!
The Riddler is my favorite Batman villain. Mostly the one in the Arkham games.
10:59-To me, Jim Carrey did a lousy job as the Riddler
Agreed, he kinda made the Riddler into Jim Carrey, he’s a good actor but he tends to do that in most of the roles I’ve seen him in.
He’d do much better as the Creeper.
He straight up ripped off Frank Gorshin’s version minus the nuance in his performance
Ironically, I actually prefer The Batman’s take on the Riddler over any other version. BTAS and Assault on Arkham versions are both really good though.
...REALLY not a fan of the Young Justice version though. Legitimately sounded like Dave Franco was physically incapable of acting.
0:37 That’s so funny how Riddler is Running like that and doing that face😂
Evolution of the Penguin in Cartoons, or Evolution of Mr. Freeze in Cartoons, please.
The Riddler is one of my favourite DC characters.
My favorite will always be John Glover’s Riddler. Always.
Finally the villain who makes you think! And a villain who became a good guy for awhile.
I can’t believe the 2005 the batman riddler is Freddy Kruger
Alfred Pennyworth cartoon and live action
The B-TAS version is kinda smexy ( partly due to design/ partly Mr. Glover's voice, with that perfect mix of ELEGANCE & ARROGANCE, that suits Eddie so well. *sigh...*)
It's my favorite version of him haha
I always thought The New Batman Adventures didn't use John Glover for the Riddler when Warner Bros redid the character designs from BTAS since he only had 1-2 lines throughout the entire series but today I was proven wrong. And yes BTAS Riddler was my 1st childhood idol, so much charisma, smooth as silk.
I love the riddler
The best Batman villan in my opinion
8:57 look at that tongue
That first one sounds like Mr.
Crocker: “FaIrY GoD pArEnTs!!”
2005 Riddler’s character design looks awesome
So many celebrities playing riddler from freddy krueger, james franco lil bro, conan o brien and renji from bleach lol. But i wish riddler had more episodes on the new batman adventures
I like the Batman TAS first design of Riddler more than the redesign. It's like are you trying to take this seriously or are you trying to be campy?
Oversimplifying the Design because money
In my opinion: I’m not only fond of Rob Paulson and “Weird Al’s” riddler, but I also kinda like Jim Carrey as him to
Until now Riddler hasn't find the actor who can play him in screen. And I am telling this as a huge fun of Carrey.
I think he is one of the greatest and underrated enemy of Batman.
How do you feel now? lol
4:13: Robert Englund? Freddy Krueger himself is the voice of the Riddler? Whoooaaaaaa.......
Killer Croc would be cool.
Brandon Brueschke I threw a big rock at him...
OH. MY. GOD. I JUST LOOKED IT UP, AND LEGO RIDDLER IS VOICED BY THE SAME MAN WHO VOICED DONATELLO IN TMNT 2012.
Jean Grey/Phoenix in live and cartoon evolutions
3:05 he really just threw 🗿
I always did like The Riddler. He’s my favorite Batman villain. ❓
9:47 PENGUINS FACE 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We need penguin sometime soon, i swear i heard gilbert gottfried in this video in the batman v 2face clip
Additional moment for LEGO Batman Movie: (Taps on box.) “Riddle me this: ...What just happened?”
4:13 the best looking Riddler
I’m obsessed with the 1980 Super Friends Riddler in the green body suit just fucking jumping out of Superman’s grip like a frog
James Gordon this time in his cartoon appearances as well as batgirl too
I really liked the Young Justice Riddler, he was a unique spin you know
All incarnations of the green lantern
2005 The Batman Riddler kinda have an Orochimaru vibe
I didn't realize that Young Justice Riddler was like.....that. Eww.
John Glover arguably the best Riddler Ever
evolution of penguin
3:36 isn't that the guy who sent a big thing onto the Penguin?
Changed...
"I have Google... "
That's a mood 🤣
Evolution of batgirl
conrado cabo lobo How about Batman? Barbara couldn't handle the pressure and is on a wheelchair. What's so special about her? #StephanieBrownMyBatgirl
Bruce Wayne sorry doesent speak inglés, la verdad no esperaba que alguien me conteste y que ese alguien able inglés 😅
He will do Iron Man next 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I prefer Stephanie Brown as Spoiler, especially in Batman Eternal. Barbara's always been my Batgirl.
I always thought the Gotham version was the most tragic; all he wanted was to be with the love of his life, and it took him down a dark road, bringing home the Joker's belief that all it takes is one, very bad day.
0:36 OOF
So Robert Englund voiced 2 Batman villains. In The Batman, he voiced the Riddler. In Injustice 2 he voiced Scarecrow. Makes me wonder if Batman will ever face the character he’s best known for: Freddy Krueger.
Brainiac from superman evolutions and superman himself too cartoon wise
The Riddler is my favorite villain in DC. I hope they add him in more movies.
Evolution of penguin
Rob Paulson uses same voice for Lego Riddler as when he was The Mask in the animated series.
Evolution of the pinguïn
Who's Pinguin?
The stupid spray is amazing. I love that.
The Penguin please!
What! Robert Englund played him. Freddy Krueger actor
Do Mad Hatter or Black Mask next!!!
If he did an animated Black Mask evolution video then it would only last for about one or two minutes since Black Mask only appeared in three things, 2004's The Batman, Batman: Under the Red Hood and Batman: Bad Blood.
If you want an evolution video of Black Mask then it would have to be about his appearances in various DC video games.
Still worth it
Why am I not surprised that the same guy that does Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds does Riddler
