I think why I find it vaguely jarring to take his 14 yr old vibe is that it's the RE4R voice (his deeper, more mature one). So the simpy awkwardness seems a little out of place. I'd expect him to be more suave. Note, not lewd or barfly skanky either. Just smooth, seductive by sounding intelligent and articulate (and crass does not).
