Hi Markus, is there any reason why my SOFI bull spread is not closing. It has not gone through for 3 days…The volume seems to be reasonable, I tried different bid/ask and also market and nothing…. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the video. One question might sound like a newbie question, since you bought them back, does this mean you still have a position open on an option for that month that will expire or is it "closed closed" in other words, there are no open positions. If you buy the option, you are taking control of it at the difference from when you sold them, so does it mean that the option is still out there & you could theoretically still make money on that "bought bck option" if something happened in the market? Thanks!
Can you please do more of these small account options walk through. They are really good to watch and I have a small account and grinding through the pain 😄
Hi Markus, very helpful video. Could you demonstrate how to close option spread positions with IBKR Trader Workstation? I've found this very confusing. I'm also trying to figure out the technical details of rolling a trade to avoid assignments.
Do you need to have market data plan to be able to move between the ask and bid price ? Because in my IB this selection is impossible , and i dont have the data btw.
Hi Hiren, as far as I know, most brokers allow you to just right-click a position to close it. You might have to check with their support team if it doesn't work.
In this case, the broker will close your position. So if you bought stocks, he will sell them. If you sold options, he will buy them back. Is this making sense?
great video. Is there a way in Interactive Brokers to setup a closing option position when the profit reach a certain percentage of profit? Same question but to close at certain percentage of loss :)
Yes, it is but you need to do it "manually." Here's how it works: Let's say you bought an option for $1.00 and you are planning to make $2.00, i.e. 100%. In this case, you would enter a LIMIT order to sell the option at $2.00 as. GTC order (good til cancel). As soon as somebody is taking the other side of your trade, the order gets executed and you realize your profit. Does this help?
good video. Can you do a video on how to close a multi leg spread. I am unable to do it with one click to create the opposite of what i sold on IB I can only do it one at a time.
Great video my friend. I am really focused on Mortgage companies and banks! I have been doing very well! Thank you for sharing, Happy Easter and Happy Pass Over my friend.
@@rockwelltradingservices , I appreciate your reply. I have seen other UA-cam videos that discuss selling options with DTE of 1 - 2 months. Is there any reason why you prefer weekly options to monthly ones?
Great video Markus, I am building my IB platform right now. but I am little bit lost. Can you help me figure out how to display the option positions, for some reason I have a position (Call Credit spread) but don't see it the way your positions are on the Monitor/ Portfolio window. thanks
Hi George, great question. I actually moved away from IB to tastyworks, because I found it very difficult to see my positions on IB in the way I wanted. There's probably an easy way, but I didn't find it. If you want to check out tastyworks, you can get more info here: rockwelltrading.com/tastyworks Does this help?
Hi Markus! I’m new to trading options and I wonder why can we close the options at a lower price than we sell options? For example, in the video you sold 0.89 put but close at 0.06

Hi Markus, I have a couple of questions... 1) Do you use TWS's Option and Combo presets to specify Profit Taker/Stop Loss values? 2) Do you ever trade SPY? I see that a lot of people advocate trading it because of its low volatility and tight trading price range. Ironically, I recently opened an Iron Condor for SPY and ended up losing money on the Call Credit Spread aspect of it. I guess the market has a bullish bias and I should have placed my Call strikes further out. Still, I didn't expect SPY to move as high as it did. Otherwise, what stocks/ETFs would you recommend trading for someone with a small account that's just starting out?
Hi there, lots of questions :-) 1.) No, I don't use TWS Option and combo presets 2.) No, I don't trade SPY. Low volatility = low option premiums. 3.) I don't like Iron Condors. It's just not my trading style. 4.) I like to find the stocks and options to trade using the "PowerX Optimizer". You might have seen me using it on the channel. Does this help? 👍

Good to see a UA-camr actually use my brokerage of choice. In the UK the only decent brokerage we have is IB.
Hi Michael, yes, I know: When I still lived in Germany, IB was the only "good" brokerage. That's why I had these accounts for 21 years now - LOL.
Can you use TastyWorks in UK?

Hi sir, what is your options timeframe ? 3 months out ? And how do you decide the strike price for such a timeframe ?
The timeframe for SELLING option is usually 5-10 days. When I'm. BUYING options, the days to expiration is 30 - 60 days.
