I have been taking an ASL course, and the first time I watched this was during my first week. Now that I have been at it for about 9-10 weeks, I can recognize many of the signs as well as the classifiers:"work" "more" "play" "satisfied" "hungry" "house" "best." The context is everything, and of course knowing the story helps, but Maisha Franklin is so animated and fun. I watch this periodically to see how much progress I've made. Absolutely beautiful performance!
Wow, this was incredible! I am nowhere even near fluent in ASL, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video, and could actually understand most of it because of the storytelling.
As I understood it, the pig in the brick house boils a pot of water, and the wolf jumps down the chimney to get him but he lands in the pot and is literally cooked. :-)
Beautiful ASL, but pictures would be wonderful. I teach a DHH TK-2nd class and they don't have much language, so a picture book in the background would be very helpful for them.
I am developing a website for interpreters and would love to share your video on my website, terpcorner.com. May I have permission to do so? Thanks! Would love to hear from you, Terri Tivis
oh gosh that so wrong and the three little pigs when to each other houses for safe keeping....but the deaf see things a lot different from heading people and talk short hand for exsample...people who can hear will say ...did you travel on the bus today deaf person will say...you came bus today am sure you can see the different they make everything easy to understand without the complex english added on
This story is not for the faint of heart. She is an extremely good storyteller. :)
Am I the only one who went their whole life being told the pigs ran to each others houses???

I know right?!?!
The real stories are so much more Grimm.

That's the most terrifying version of The Three Little Pigs I've ever seen! Absolutely fantastic!
The wolf is SO SCARY!!! I was seriously feeling intimidated. This is a GREAT version of The Three Little Pigs :)
Excellent ASL! I will be signing this story to my hearing niece. Thank you! Respect and support of the Deaf community.

Does the pig eat wolf stew?
That's extra disturbing since the other pigs don't get away in this version.
The expressions! Drama! Perfect. Thanks!
This is absolutely fantastic. I was so captivated. You are an excellent storyteller. :)
Amazing use of ASL!!! I am learning ASL, so I need to see as much as possible:) THANK YOU!

0:22-0:23 the concept is: to do nothing or just the minimum needed to "just get by" is not enough because you won't be successful.

What are 15 classifiers used in this video? thanks
What is the sign she did at 0:22-0:23? What does it mean?
"Pity yourself", and "nothing to it" which can be like taking it easy.
