Saw an interview of him on French television where he said he actually took a few of those punches. This video is deep as fuck.
I think its more deeper than that. I think he is all alone in that alley because he feels alone. The guy symbolizes his emotions. Shows how he keeps everything to himself and his emotions are dancing around him and sometimes holding it all in and trying to go at it alone can give your emotions the right to beat you down like that.

Selon Toxic Avenger lui même (propos écoutés dans l'Apéro du Captain sur Freepod.net), il s'est vraiment fait casser la gueule dans ce clip. Il faut savoir qu'il à fait ce clip apres avoir appris comment éviter les coups. Le problème, il le dit lui même "j'ai dut rater quelque chose", il se les ai vraiment pris. D'où l’intérêt d'écouter l'APC, le meilleur podcast high-tech et musique ;)

I have no idea what's going on in this video, but I'm gonna take a guess, and say that Simon is in some sort of secret underground criminal organization, and he messed something up on the last big job, or was found out a traitor (hence why is standing in a weird alley of sorts with a scared look in his eyes, blood on his lip, and eventually tears as he faces what's coming).
