However, I do believe exchange current density (i0) is an accurate parameter to evaluate the performance of an electrocatalyst not equilibrium potential because the former gives us information about the kinetics of a reaction but the later, equilibrium potential is just a thermodynamic parameter that does not represent the possibility of occurring a reaction. At least both should be considered together.
