Damn, Julian you were so ahead of your time. Everything Elitist did, even with Chris and more of the Forever Orion inspired songs you guys made. Such a shame Elitist just never completely took off. The change in sound from 2013 and beyond pissed off obnoxious “djent” purists. You guys made the best riffs, catchiest hooks, and most memorable vocal choruses in the genre. If this dropped years later than it did, everyone would’ve praised it. Oh well, at least I’m still enjoying Elitist in 2020. Great lifting music tbh and I’m glad to rediscover them years later. Still remember every song when I hear it play. Legends never die.
Every Night for the past two month I’ll play this through my monitors while playing it on my guitar. My 10 month old son will immediately fall asleep every time without fail! Proud father atm!
Thanks to you i found this band , It is a band? , Idk , I like it so much :). [I found a Shirt that had written "falling in reverse" and i google it and clicked on the first video .... meh.... i was reading comments and found with yours, i was curious and i google it too , so here i am]
@@crzxm he reminds me a lot of aj minette, both dudes play virtuosic technically mind boggling styles but are so effortlessly locked in with the way they move across the neck. elitist and human abstract are two of my favorite bands for that reason, the drums are so in sync with the insanity going on with the guitars. the earth ep is the most unique djent release ive ever found

This is Drop B, all Elitist discography is IIRC except for a few tracks where Julian *might* have tracked it with a 7 string tuned to Drop B with a high F#
Mason Stanley to clarify your point, two of the songs on Reshape Reason were in 7-string Drop B. On the Between the Balance EP, "Echo in the Room" was in drop B flat. On their final self titled album, 4 of the songs were in drop A flat on a six string.
dude, this is completely amazing. i understand that people can have different taste but this is def not generic. people just have a natural instinct to bitch instead of listening. lets see you write something this talented.
This was JUST the song I wanted to see! So good and definetly not boring to watch. And btw I really like the fact that you acrually record a new track for these playtroughs and not just use the original by itself. Good job!
Without trying to offend anyone, but Djent music sounds better without voice or the screams, the instrumental development is an incredibly achievement to admire that sometimes is overshadowed by the screams. Of course, is just a personal opinion.
I couldnt agree with you more. I have lots of friends turn down Elitist, Erra, Novelist, the faceless etc. Because they say there is too much going on. But once i show them a guitar play through. They are immediately head over heels for this bands. Because in a way. Even though i can actually get into this bands. Listening to them without vocals is alot more pleasing. And shit ton more beautiful. You actually get to understand what is going on. And capture every melodic and technical aspect of this insane works of art
Yep. Tends to be why I stick to bands like Corelia, Modern Day Babylon, Walking Across Jupiter etc. Screaming over top of non standard time signatures just sounds strange to me (Meshuggah being the exception).
La cancion esta brutal! Me encanta el playthrough de esta cancion, Las voces... WOW! La cancion tiene vida propia que con o sin las voces hubiera quedado como queria Perfect.!
help my student needs a backing track for this song for his assessment! Do you have one you could share?(one thats just ok for guitarist to solo over-guitart+vocals taken out)
hahah..........XD thanks for making my day Julian. This is the best song on the album & people still aren't satisfied. Because his cover was so much better?
+Austin Pierce i don't was talking about the sound, i was talking about the intro of the video, where you can se the logo of Elitist, this logo have the effect "glitch" i was asking about that.

The most true comment here
Unmatchable tone for me. This band had the best sound, still sounds solid almost a decade later. Please do another album.
I practice Domino Theory on the 6 every day.
Drop B tuning on the 6 string for djent. What a power move.
Every Night for the past two month I’ll play this through my monitors while playing it on my guitar. My 10 month old son will immediately fall asleep every time without fail! Proud father atm!
OMG that riff at 1:05 The way it plays with the kicks is perfect.
I miss the good old days of Julian and Sean being an unstoppable duo. :(

***** Holy shit, that's awesome! Thanks google, for actually being useful. Also, check out ERRA if you haven't already.
***** I just did the same :D
Omni Codex ERRA OP BAND
lkkkj
This is really good. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of some of the full band + vocals here but the instrumental sounds great.
his fingers move so calmly. no urgency. never seen someone play like this before.
Did he write it? Then add technique = precision playing

@@clarkcant4818 it's been a while since I've heard that album.
@@clarkcant4818 I mean EP.
Look up Jason richardson
Why is this the best riff ever? I can't stop listening on a loop.
I just noticed the kick drum is louder when the main riff comes back at the end, which is part of why it sounds so epic when that theme returns.
This playing can be called Zen & the Art of Effortless playing 🙏🏻🎸
must learn to play this song... f-ing love it
Songsterr.com has a few tabs of 10 of their songs. Sadly, not this one, however. :/

Nick Carney :D
Nick Carney marry me
The main riff still is still nutty af
who says you need more strings? The riffs are strong.
They tune the top string to a B, just like the top string on a 7-string. So they basically added the string, without actually adding it lol.
Aaron Jones so is it drop b or b a d g b e?

As long as you get your creative point across, the amount of strings don't matter.
Normal Speed: Atmospheric Djent
1.25: Groove Metal speed
1.5: Tech Death speed
Funny how that works out...
+MetalPajamas lmao aye
tech death speed is fine af 👌👌👌
The dissonance in all the riffs is so good. Makes everything seem so on edge.
Whoever shot this did a great job. Great camera movement, editing, and color.

These guys are always one of my go to bands!
Damn man this is actually pretty fuckin sick!! I love that melodic as the fuck riff and the note choices are absolutely amazing.
this band is so underrated
Instantly bought the EP after hearing this, amazing stuff!!
So freaking good! That was structured so well
This was JUST the song I wanted to see! So good and definetly not boring to watch. And btw I really like the fact that you acrually record a new track for these playtroughs and not just use the original by itself. Good job!

totally agree

Yup you're totally right, I always include "Guitar Playthrough" in my searches.
it is not necesary the 0-1-1-1-0 sound, there are more sounds in djent, but i agree, its not enough to constitute a genre.
Sounds great 🙌
i'm in love with that musicman...
Insane playing !
miss this band
So good!
what a gem this is
awesome man!
This guitar sounds huge!!
Cool, like it !
who said that to have a good sound have to be sooooo technical

Nice work .. greetings from venezuela
totally sick.
this is sick with the full band too
Fantastic, and on a 6 string. Hey, have Elitist joined about every one else in using AxeFx?
Unreal
That would be me! Thank you so much! :]

You must be fun at parties.

He's a student of A.J Minette, guitarist from The Human Abstract :) I'm not kidding.
gnar
What VST are you using? :)
I'm back for you
The guitar in this dong is pretty badass
Someone can tell me how is the name of the 3d effect on the intro? Thanks!
***** ?
+Mathi Langa you mean reality?
+Mathi Langa You're likely hearing a combination of ring modulation, delay/reverb and possibly a pitch shifter or two.
+Austin Pierce i don't was talking about the sound, i was talking about the intro of the video, where you can se the logo of Elitist, this logo have the effect "glitch" i was asking about that.
Lonely Giant next!
