Don't know if you remember me but we emailed a bit when I was w the US army in Combat, like the early 2000s. You inspired me to become a music creator, and it's all I have done since I got out. Thank you for being a blazing light in a dark world, Robin.
@@RobinRimbaudScanner oh don't get me wrong- it was totally "red bruise" that took me on my side journey, hearing from u was just bonus lol! Be well, bro
Awesome set! That ipad app looks interesting! I saw you play once in New York. circa 2003. It was a show where everybody played at the same time and the public was given radio recievers to tune into the different artists. Inspiring night, thanks
Thank you! Yes, I remember that very well! Thurston Moore also performed at this and I remember his slamming away at his guitar but you couldn't hear unless you wore the headphones. A wonderful sonic adventure!
thanks for the inspiration Robin. i would stay up late in the 90s and record 'the paul thomas chill out zone' on kiss 100. that was the first time i herd your work.
Sorry you were unwell. Still, the music was pretty sick all the same! Always look forward to your posts and this was a particularly good one. Love the barking dog segment.
Nice setup Eventide H9, Soma Cosmos, TE op1, can't remember that red silver modular name, volca FM, Roland tr6s, ❤❤❤ What's the black granular sampler?see you in Prague Thursday 4th it's our friends organising the gig PMP
Just caught up to this. Excellent set Robin! I’m curious how you are controlling when/what goes into the Cosmos. The array of textures had so much variety yet flowed well. Your patience is admirable.
illness or not, Robin this is so good! How much are you trying to guide what the Cosmos is doing? Or perhaps just letting it mostly do its thing and reacting to it? Is the Blackbox contributing a lot? A rig walkthrough would be so interesting I think (he says to an incredibly busy professional musician...)
Ah, thank you! It's almost impossible to anticipate what the Cosmos is actually doing to be honest, and that's something I really enjoy about it. It's very different than a standard looper, you can't depend on regular timing ideas. Blackbox offers some rhythm later on and a bank of environmental samples here. For my Bandcamp Live shows I often offer a rig run down at the end for those who are interested, but for this set it was demanding enough, health wise, to even get this set up running!
@@RobinRimbaudScanner no worries, I can piece together what's going on enough. The Bandcamp Live rig rundowns and chat post show is the reason I had a thought for such a thing for this setup also but I totally understand the workload and how much time each of these extras can take on top of the setup and performance. All the best from chilly NZ.
@@emptyvesselnz as I said, it would have happened if I had actually felt well enough, but I was completely knocked out by this flu and managed to 'act' my way through this performance and that was really enough!
@@michaelsnow7252 It's fantastic little instrument. Prices new can be rather expensive, so try and find it second hand. I picked this one as a bargain many years ago! You can sample with it, it has a little radio, it's a drum machine and a 4-track recorder too. Endless fun!

What a lovely opening, great to have a performance to watch through, thanks!
Thanks for listening Mr DK!!!
Thanks Robin 👍

Thanks a lot! I do fine endless pleasure working with music, it's true!
I'm in love with your studio space, Robin.
Ah, that's kind of you to say. It's an inspiring location indeed!

Those were such great times. Paul is still a friend of mine today and we had the greatest fun together on his show sometimes too!
Such a beautiful and awe-inspiring end to a wonderful day of live music! Lots of money raised for a great cause too!
Very kind words Gavin, thank you, and yes amazingly positive for the funds raised!
get in! Was hoping there would be something new for this mornings work! Thanks Robin, appreciated as always
Thanks for tuning in!
A journey. Fantastic to watch and hear you create💎‼️
Too kind, thank you.
Love this. superb performance.
thank you, that's really kind of you!
Great to discover your music. I'm interested in the cosmos, recommend it?
Yes, absolutely, it's a wonderfully inspiring instrument

Much appreciated, thank you! Happy you liked the dog 😀
beautiful set !!
Thanks Michel, and hopefully proof that even when horribly sick it's still possible to make something work!

The black box is the 1010 Blackbox, and the silver one the Kilpatrick Phenol synth. Come and say hello in Prague - that's going to be a wild show!

Thanks for your kind words. As always, I had very little expectation of what was to come so was quite happy with this all really 😀
Lovely stuff :)
Many thanks!
Great set. What’s the mixer you’re using?
Thank you. Just an old Mackie mixer, nothing special at all

What is that synth next Cosmos and 1010?
That's the Kilpatrick Phenol synth. I recorded an entire album using only this actually - scanner.bandcamp.com/album/the-phenol-tapes
so i have nothing to add to all comments here
Then that's fine 😊
is that an op 1 in the set up?
it is indeed- the live set begins only with the sound of that actually
