Desperately want to see Bernardo in the 6 more. He's absolutely lifeless on the wing and is everywhere in the middle. Strong in the tackle, able to intercept, drops between the CBs to dictate possession. I still remember him looking like prime Kante against liverpool
@@pcamara883 I agree! our main priority is to sign DM, hopefully this transfer windows. Im tired of seeing either Gundo, Mateo or Bernardo losing their limbs 70 minutes into the game and stretch the midfield so much.
Bayern aren't much better than City are at the moment they are vulnerable as well. Honestly I don't think there's many teams this season that are so good as to be unbeatable for City despite the downturn including Madrid. I still think City can beat anyone on their day it's just that it's going to have to be 4-3 or similar now because they can't control games the way they used to. They still have a punchers chance so less of the negative waves Moriarty. One game at a time it's all you can do at times like this.
Kev’s never coming back to his level « without injury ». There is no current injury, this is just Kevin at 33 a year after recovering from a serious knee injury. Those, unfortunately, have been known to change players forever. Look at R9, the knee injury was the beginning of the end for him. He was never the same after it
I think people need to face the music about KDB. He was never the same after returning from the long knee injury. If anyone thinks that he ‘s still the same player, then you haven’t seen Kevin at his best. Guy’s 33, so the age doesn’t help either. His game was always about those driving runs forward, but he was also known for tracking back with intensity, both are gone from his game. He doesn’t have the speed anymore. He feels and looks like an old player on the field. I don’t think he’s renewing either, so it’s probably good bye at the end of the season! With everything he’s won in his career, I don’t think we can fault him for wanting to play in a less intense environment to close out his career.
Unfortunately I think you might be right, in the kindest way possible, it's like seeing the family dog start to struggle to get up off his bed. Enjoy the time you have left, don't keep them around longer than they need to be. One of the premier league's greatest ever.
I think it very obvious that when we try to play the slow possession type football we are not as effective as when get the ball forward quickly and use our proper wingers.
Why the pessimism at the start? This team is starting to show personality once again. Facing Madrid once again, will be the best thing for this team. The hunger levels will rise to the top, specially how they knocked us out last year everyone will be more determined than ever and with fresh new players who knows? Its football after all we can get knocked off and we can knock off madrid its not something impossible we did it before. That could actually transform our UCL run.
Wow very interesting way of looking at it!! I think we are all too preoccupied about getting a DM and for good reason but we have unfinished business with Madrid. I expect Guardiola to go all out against Madrid. Drop the highline and give them a run for their money.
WE NEED TO HUMBLE OURSELVES AND PLAY COUNTER ATTACK FOOTBALL VS MADRID/BAYERN. USE THE PACE OF HAALAND AND DOKU/MARMOUSH OR ANY OF OUR FAST PLAYERS. KEEP THE TEAM COMPACT. USE EDERSON'S LONG PASSES TO PICK UP HAALAND AND CO. SO WE CAN BREAK THOSE HIGH LINE DEFENCES AND HIT THOSE TEAMS ON THE COUNTER. THEN WE MIGHT STAND A CHANCE BUT IF GAURDIOLA INSISTS ON EXPENSIVE CHAMPAGNE FOOTBALL WE'LL NOT JUST LEAK GOALS BUT WE'LL ABSOLUTELY BE HAMMERED BY 4's OR 5's IF NOT MORE.
----- Haaland -- - Marmoush -- Savhino - Kova -- Stones -- KdB Gvardiol - Dias - Akan- Cambiasio This team playing in the counter with KdB feeding long balls shielded by faster players like Akanji and Cambiassio.
Where were the Defenders when Brugge scored a goal?? They were all in the box. This is how Madrid or Bayern will eliminate us because we are gifting the opposition acres of space to attack. If Guardiola wants to go far in this competition, the highline must be dropped. Nunes, Rico and Gvardiol just aren't good enough defensively to play this highline. Hopefully we get Cambiaso/Ederson before we face them.
The Highline is only part of the issue. Another real issue is with the formation - we can't lineup like that and expect anything else than a slow and predictable City side. Look how good we look with fast paced winger and full back pushing up. Opposition can't handle that even with a slow City midfield. I believe we can do this. We need signings in and Pep needs to stop playing so slow and pushing the cb's so far up the pitch. Now we have Marmoush back and hopefully Dias. We're still in it
I agree with you. I think Phil is overrated. Scores a couple of goals, but not creative, rarely assists, can't beat anyone, offers little off the ball. He should be 2nd eleven IMO
We're going to sign a midfielder on Thursday who will play on Sunday and be the reason we can compete with them? Ok....Josko/Dias/Stones/Akanji as a backline will change a LOT. Omar will play. Let's see what happen...
@@thesouthernwakeExactly, the team is starting to find a bit of form and fitness. We can only get better from this point... I think we'll shock a few teams in the coming months
In fairness man city have met real madrid 3 times in the last 3 seasons and everytime the winner wins the champions league. Madrid 2022- city 2023 madrid 2024.
Steven wants to judge players based on their personal life but we were spoiled with Kyle Walker for years. Nunes simply isn't good enough anywhere on pitch. Phil Foden isn't good enough for midfield.
You say that as if I wanted Walker out of the club. I never said that. I just don't respect him 🤷♂️ ...only time I'll ever want a player not here if I think they're a genuine criminal, not just a dick.
I think its really time to drop gundo, he is just not the player he used to be. I would rather lose games with rico lewis and nunes in midfield rather than benching lewis to avoi the errors and playing gundo who unfortunately has not future at this club
He was brought it as a backup n#8, never intended to be a starter. We just had a slew of injuries that forced to play him. Frankly we need another option in midfield asap. Pep isn’t blind and can see what everyone else can see, be even says it in his press conference. We probably have the old midfield in any top European league right now-Kevin 33, Kova 30, Gundo 34….a midfielder should he the next signing and it’s not even close
Desperately want to see Bernardo in the 6 more. He's absolutely lifeless on the wing and is everywhere in the middle. Strong in the tackle, able to intercept, drops between the CBs to dictate possession. I still remember him looking like prime Kante against liverpool
Stones back in CB brings assurance and confidence for the Men Upfront to just focus on attacking
Yeah but that midfield is still wide open. Still can’t track back. We really do need a DM for real
Stones will get injured tripping on a blade of grass can't rely on that
@@pcamara883 I agree! our main priority is to sign DM, hopefully this transfer windows. Im tired of seeing either Gundo, Mateo or Bernardo losing their limbs 70 minutes into the game and stretch the midfield so much.

Stones is a absolute rolls Royce. How do we keep him fit. Would be nervous risking playing him against arsenal.

Very stressful game tbh. 1st half was poor Savinho made the difference! Kovacic was class!
All that matters is we are through
Kev’s been way off it recently, hope he gets a rest so he can eventually play without injury
He was good today. He’s way better than last month. He just isn’t finding the net rn. Everything else has been good from him
