Nice video, good analysis, wide range of examples, as always.
However I may mention it's a pity to make a video of Top Sankaku Specialists with no reference to Lien Chen-Ling, who has recorded a few dozens wins with this technique (although most of them are typically sankaku-gatame and not jime).

Thanks for letting me know. I had some complaints about music in the past, so I stopped using it. I'll use it again in the future now I know that some people enjoyed it.

I always wonder why Bilodid never uses it as a choke given the difficulty she occasionally has in turning her opponents over.

My guess is that she is too tall to do that. When she/he has long legs, it’s so easy to unlock it.

Interesting compilation. But it is not corect to talk about Bilodid technique how her technique could be finish in the other sports. It is judo! And I think you can award her original transition and very good application this technique. And other my notice: shimewaza by Petersen Pollard and Maeda it is more okuri eri jime than sankaku jime and Renshall switches from ushiro sankaku to osaekomi kuzure kami shiho gatame...But it is details only.I award more your good choice and their good application.

i dont understand judo rules. correct me because i am a layman to judo. i thought judo was mostly about throwing the opponent from a standing position, then someone gets a point and you reset to standing again. in these triangles, they are on the ground for quite a while after the throws. it looks more like BJJ to me but with judo throws. someone enlighten me on the rules please

If the ref feels that the match is advancing towards a submission or pin finish on the ground they allow it to continue.

1:48 - "These techniques will work in MMA" - absolutely hilarious, tell me the UFC fight where you saw this crap??? These aren't high level triangles, they are appalling level defence. People don't go belly down in MMA because it's a dumb thing to do, plus they know triangle defence and wrestling (i.e. getting up). You have more chance of hitting a NoGi Seoi Nage than one of these!

@@non-stopnewaza9266 so i'll ignore the Bellator ones, what 3 of the UFC ones and the ONE submission have in common is that they are using the triangle as a hold and the submission is actually on the arm. That's a legit submission. The inverted triangle alone is crap. The only UFC example of that was against a guy who went 0-3 in the UFC, and was finished in all his fights (i.e. not UFC calibre).
If you watch Tim Boetsch defend against Luke Rockhold, he's defending intelligently. That's why it takes a whopping 102 seconds from the triangle getting locked up, to the tap and he's tapping to the arm. That why I say it's a shit technique because he was never tapping to the 'choke' alone.
