There seems to be a resentment against Chelsea for having a proactive ownership armed with good lawyers and accountants. Yet they were the team that turned themselves in for the previous ownership malfeasance even if it means the club will be sanctioned. Other than giving young very talented players long contracts that amortize over a longer period than usual, Chelsea has looked into the future to see where the league is going with rules on restrictions and transfers. Premier league and football in general is behind the american sports industry by a few years interms of marketing and sponsorship, todd and co did hint this earlier in their takeover. They obviously see where football is headed with now more eyes on Champions league and club football. FIFA and UEFA have issues because club football brings in more revenue than world football. The player wages at chelsea encourages them to do well giving them salary hikes the end of the year. Just need the manager to bring the best out of them and this would create a fully commercialised team in the league. Real madrid, PSG and it would be them if they do it right.

You can’t condemn Chelsea’s spending and amortisation and then praise Brighton as a stand out club making money within the PSR. One does not exist without the other.
This seems to have quite a straight forward solution. Whichever team has the highest (legitimate) revenue, their revenue becomes the league limit. So Villa and Newcastle can spend as much as Manchester United and be competitive with them, for example. Teams just need to show proof of funds if their spending above their own revenue to stop teams overextending themselves
Chelsea ownership knows the rules and run a clean sports team in America, these owners have been doing this for years so they probably have a better strategy than City do. City owners are not running a clean club and are using money power to not get charged.
49:50 No way did I hear this guy say that Gallagher and Chalobah are the crown jewels of Chelsea? I'm sorry but if you're not one of the best in the world in your position (or have the potential to be) you can't be seen as a crown jewel of an elite club. We have to stop inflating players' ability just because they are homegrown. If they rise through the ranks, get their debut and feature then great, whether they are good enough to consistently compete at elite clubs is a different story. These pundits should be smart enough to know the difference.
105 Charges are charges that occur yearly, that ManC dont hand in accounts. ie 2010 they are asked to release information within 12 months. 2011 they are charged for not releasing, than given another 12 months to release files, than charged again for the same charge in 2010. Than in 2013, 2014, 2016... Charged again for the same charge. For another alledged offence, the same charge is added yearly.... In actual fact they are charged with 9 breaches. Than every year many of the non compliance is charged again. In layman term, if one sees a car illegal parked on the street for week, with seven parking tickets. Its the same offence charged every day for a week.
There is a simple accounting solution to this. The current PSR/FFP problem is clubs like Chelsea are selling young/older players who have stayed on with the club for pure profit and then signing new players in long contracts to spread out the costs as amortization to stay within PSR rules. FIFA and UEFA should change the accounting rules that mandate clubs to spread out net transfer proceedings (no matter who they buy or sell) in a given season from 1 to 5 years forward (clubs choice) as amortization. This way certain players are not treated as pure profit and others as amortized costs.
Or...clubs like Chelsea just stop cheating, spending 2 billion on 57 new players in itself blocks home grown players coming through, so their cry 'PSR forces us to sell homegrown talent' is a false one, stop cheating by buying players for the club from funds the club did not generate.
Its amazing for us North Americans to watch how EPL struggles with an indirect cap on spending. All leagues over here have had that for decades and its a science. EPL is literally 30 years behind. Also, the lack of understanding of the system by pundits and fans is shocking with EPL stuff.
If they did nothing wrong then why the non compliance? Why did Mancini have two separate salary contracts in two separate countries? Then the stadium naming rights deal 4 times bigger than anything else in world football?
