- Andrea Baldazo was the 19th person to testify. She is a registered nurse out tubing with her family the day of the Apple River stabbing. She said she realized someone was hurt and then jumped to assist Isaac Schuman. She testified she exhausted herself providing CPR chest Compressions, adding it felt like forever. They were singing "Baby Shark" to keep people on rhythm.

People like this woman give me hope for humanity. She’s traumatized by this and her heart is very heavy. I hope she is ok.
She’s a registered nurse. We nurses see this kind of trauma and worse everyday. That’s what we do.
PTSD hope everyone gets help with this.
She's drunk and on anxiety meds at time of the incident. She tried to help a bad guy.
Mine too, and his cross-examination really irritated me. I felt like how dare you try to act like her husband‘s night had the blood, etc. but I have to say that was a very good move as an attorney.
@@Cwgrlup True, but it bothers her obviously, and it was traumatizing. My parents are surgeons. we came upon a log wreck first When I was about six or seven years old the people in the car in front of us were hit with logs and I remember my dad always keeping his medical bag in the trunk. First time and last time I ever saw my parents completely shaken. They sobbed once they got back in the car and 911 had completely taken over. I don’t know how long they did compressions. My mom was on the woman and my dad was a man and everything else that they could do. Let us pray for you guys and love you. We know you’re not bulletproof.

If you are doing chest compressions on me and I have a bleed anywhere that is that bad you are of no comfort to me. Very rarely is someone trying to hasten a persons demise a comfort.
That’s an interesting way to say you have no clue how rescue first aid works. Bravo!
@@TheGoldenV-bl9pjActually, as curt as DraggonCanoe might sound, they are 1000% correct. The victim had an uncontrolled, massive bleed from his heart being lacerated. The hearts sole function is to pump blood throughout the body. The purpose of chest compressions is to push on the heart, once it has stopped beating in order to get the blood circulating to the vital organs.
If you have a massive hemorrhage that is not stopped and you’re doing chest compressions, in essence, what you’re doing is pumping what little blood volume might be left out of the victims body.
The only way to possibly even have the slightest of chance that this kid would be saved, would have been for this to occur in a trauma bay with a trauma surgeon and an entire team. Even then, the chances would have been slim to none.
@@DraggonCanoeexactly. This so called “nurse” sped up his death. She needs to be locked up 😡

Chest compressions for 45 minutes is insane and so stressful

Well said. This is so tragic all around. An awful example of how we people can get wrapped up in their own shiiiit. Fortunately, we have people like Andrea who are angels on earth.
That old man was a thug who has definitely killed or nearly killed someone before.
It was not made clear what her husband losing his own knife had to do with the case. It certainly didn't have anything to do with her direct testimony and should have been objected to as irrelevant.
Agreed, I honestly thought in mentioning her husband's knife he was trying to say that was the knife used to murder that young man,.. what was all that about the younger people shouting at her husband for picking up the googles ?
All I can think is that he's trying (needlessly imo) to cast doubt in the jury's mind
I thought she held herself together well, she may well be used to trauma & death as a nurse, but you don't expect to be battling to save the life of an otherwise healthy young man when your enjoying a family trip on the river... She was excellent
@@archiesmum8601it’s to show that carrying knives is common while rafting because the prosecution will try to frame carrying the knife as premeditated
I can understand why he mentioned her husband having a knife but I don't understand the relevance of him losing it. I don't know where they were going with that. The prosecutor probably didn't object because he wasn't sure either. My best guess is that the defense wanted to make sure the jury knew he had a knife but lost it so if an officer later states that no other knife was ever found on another person it's not because nobody else had one.
@tjn8844 it still had nothing to do with her direct testimony. On cross there is supposed to be only questions pertaining to her testimony. She did not testify on direct about the knife.
Oh, that just made me cry. They were singing baby shark song to keep people on compressions and focused. That is an exhausting thing to do, also. Its a nightmare to have to work on someone while waiting for EMS. Me and a friend of mine helped a guy who was seizing in a Waffle House and OMG! My body was so rigid when EMS got there. I was not even doing the work, I was just supporting my friend who was. Totally shocking experience. ------------ This trial is so unbelievable. I just can't believe in a lovely day, all hell would break loose.
Yes absolutely! Adrenaline helps thank goodness, but CPR is EXHAUSTING
Just kill me now and don't sing that fucking song. What next, crazy frog chest compressions?
Why were you doing compressions on someone having a seizure? Did they stop breathing?
Chest compressions rhythms are surprisingly hard (especially if you don't have anyone else to take over) to keep if you don't have a song to keep that timing.... Most of the time, we are told to sing to ourselves: staying alive. I know it's silly but it does help when things get crazy. Listening to what the stabbing wounds are... There isn't any cpr can help that person.
And in the water too. Chest compressions are extremely tiring!
They said he died almost instantly. She was doing compressions on a dead body.

@@Cwgrlupwell you dont do chest compressions unless the person stops breathing, so your comment is ridiculous. If that was your loved one you would want to know that every effort was made to save them. At what point does a person who isnt breathing become a dead body.

There is some comfort in knowing that a nurse with relevant skills and training was on hand to do their best to help. I bet that the time waiting for help felt like an eternity. Any time you wait for help in an emergency feels long, but when you are doing CPR that just magnifies significantly.
Hell no. Nurses are not useful. He needed Jesus Christ but she wasn't enough help with her dirty hands. Everyone guilty in this river who was drinking alcohol. That is why I don't drink alcohol. I don't want blood on my hands and over my head like these losers in the river have.
What's up with this prosecutor. Is he in Training because he makes no sense sometimes. Needs help from the other guy.

Maybe they should not be allowed any alcohol on the river if people get outta control.
That's a huge stretch in MN and WI while tubing. How would you enforce it? There is tubing on more than one river. People usually don't go stabbing each other during these things. Idk if the stabber was intoxicated or not, or if he would have put himself in the situation that he did, outnumbered, if not armed. The atmosphere is usually not violent and people look out for each other. Usually....
That’s a huge stretch on any type of party tubing river. Here in Arizona at the salt river they would lose 90% of their customers if they banned alcohol.
@maxrshelltrack7443 it’s like saying people are not allowed to use their phone while they drive, especially texting. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE DIE FROM CAR ACCIDENTS WHILE THE CELL ARE BEING USED??!! 🤯
@@ricardorodriguez-ci2ze what are you even talking about about? These two things are not the same. How bout we outlaw soap in the shower because some people slip?
They wouldn’t make any money if they enforced that. Assuming people pay to tube on this river, I’ve never been -But I’ve been to other rivers in WI.
God bless our nurses and first responders. ❤ That’s a tough job for anyone and when we need them most, they are our only hope. My love and prayers are headed your way. And I hope you know how thankful many of us are for what y’all do.

She jumped into action after Miu left a horrific scene. She was trying to save a boy and they think she was focused her husband, really?
i am also a registered nurse. i have seen some very sad cases with kids working in the emergency room. it really disturbs me when defense attorneys or prosecutors try to take blame away from obvious criminals and even have the audacity to make it look like the witnesses spouse had something to do with the altercation. shame on the second attorney for his line of questions about the snorkel mask. it has nothing to do with the case. a man slashed numerous people and deserves to be punished. end of story.
This woman clearly demonstrates the best of us, thankfully all good nurses are like this. I know there are always horror stories of nurses committing horrific crimes but thankfully the good far outweigh any bad.
Thank you for your Service
Glad she identified as Registered Nurse bc so many say just Nurse and they’re anything but a Registered Nurse.
An LVN is still a nurse. I work with LVNs that are just as capable as the RNs I work with. And, in some cases more capable.
What is this lawyer asking?!!!! He’s insane!! He’s horrible
Are you a lawyer? Maybe you don’t get his points. What bad questions is he asking?
@@mitzistanford9201 to be fair it goes the other way too, some lpn's and lvn's suck too. But the op is probably referring to nursing assistants and hospital housekeepers and hospital cafeteria workers saying they are nurses and don't do dick. As a side note, the top critical care positions for nurses in trauma icu, cardiothoracic and flight nurses are always RN's and not LVN's/LPN's. Nothing wrong with having the step down nurses, it fills a role just like the rest of the roles so there is no reason to angle them against each other, it's a team based on limited money.
This is why heroes usually brush off praise: they know that many others like them are willing and able to step up, without knowing whether they will save a life or not, and that getting a save is reward in itself, but that they deserve it no more than those who try and fail.
laughing did turn into screaming.
Everyone has about two drinks!! Everyone!
2 = 4, 6, 8
the typical liars say two exactly, the smarter ones say 1-2 or plain none. This chick knew this from her patients and added the extra bit about the sip from the 3rd drink and named the drinks to add credibility.
In 99.9% of cases, 2 is never the correct amount.
She tried saving his life. 45 minutes if compression is NOT easy!
Bless her for trying to help
I was so sad watching this. Like not only did this woman try so hard to save that boys life, but you can tell he suffered and was in pain every moment until he died. Such a monster that would do this to someone.

I stumbled upon this trial and am so interested. I am trying to watch everything without bias but I just can’t see stabbing people in a river, during a day of tubing.
Then you probably didn't see the video in court from Mr.Cockfield, heavy weight wrestler, and defensive football end; who was harassing Mr.Miu with his 5 teen male friends, all on pot and drinking, and calling women over to get up in Mr.Miu's face all screaming like a pack of demons for sport;while Mr.Miu just stood there, doing nothing, until they started hitting on him( first blow was from a woman).Only after he was struck by the woman who came from another group joining the first able bodied 6 males;did Mr.Miu take out his knife from his pocket. In the face of a dozen or more insane hoodlums.
On other videos of this trial there's thousands of people supporting the man with the knife and its sickening
Exactly! no older person, or anyone for that matter should go tubing and have to be surrounded and bullied and harassed by a bunch of drunken punk ass creeps
Its called alcohol
@sherryscarabino255 so is it self defense or what ? Seems a bit much for someone pushing u down. Del
Support for nurses is essential- we deal with trauma and don’t always get support

Scumbag lawyers going after that nurses husband because he had a pocket knife ! Give me a break ! The pictures and video show what happened !
He did that for two reasons, 1. to show a nurses husband brought a knife. So not uncommon and 2. Opens door to ask husband if he heard the young adults mention how it went down.
Seriously??? You think this lawyer is trying to pin it on her husband. No. No one is saying this defendant didn’t stab the kids. The point of the knife question is to show that having a knife on you is not unusual. Because the prosecution can use that fact as this guy was violent and planned to stab them by having the knife with him. But the defense is saying, look, lots of people carry knives.
God Bless You Andrea Baldazo .... It is ok to go talk to someone about this. Please.

What a horrible outcome from start to finish. What should have been a day of fun turns tragic. All over a cell phone, nasty kids and pocket knife.
What the F***???? What difference does it make what kind of a knife the woman who tried to save Isaacs life has? God, this is the most horrible trial footage I have ever seen.
Hmm 🤔
Most likely to acknowledge that it is common that people tubing usually have one.
I just can't understand where compressions would come in if someone is bleeding out. Seems like it would speed up the bleeding out.
I hope she knows she did all that she could and doesn't blame herself for not being able to save him. It was a fatal wound and he only had minutes. 😢
God bless you.... I hope you see this Andrea
What has her husband got to do with this ? totally irrelevant time wasting questions, obviously charging by the hour! Dozens of people probably innocently had pocket knives with them for cutting rope/string etc when they are tying tubes together etc. The questions probably upset this lady more, wondering why they were being asked.
Poking holes in the witness’s statement to create reasonable doubt; it’s what defense attorneys do, as annoying as it is. 😣🙏
That’s the point! To show that lots of people carry knives so the prosecution can’t accuse their client of being violent because he had a knife on him. They want the jury to see that lots of people carry knives.
They’re not poking holes. No one is disputing what she’s saying. They’re showing that lots of people carry knives.
