The alarm was most likely a dealer installed option by a local company at the time. Also power antennas were on either side. Seville 1978, drivers side. 1978 DeVille had windshield imbedded one, poor reception by those then. Antennas were universal 46 years ago. Way back machine, I remember those on the showroom floor.
You did not demonstrate the sunroof, load leveling, automatic radio antenna. The radiator overflow reservoir cap is missing. Demonstrate the heater/AC control.
They're usually located on the corner of that fender...I can't see Cadillac placing it there from the factory; probably after market. And antenna on THAT side? 🤔 Curious...
Most likely aftermarket. My dads 1971 Kingswood wagon came with one installed by its first owner. The switch looked exactly like the one on this Seville. Had a similar key too.

Our Sedan De Ville had the alarm key in the same location on the fender. Came from factory like that.
If it upsets you that much stop friggen looking at it,its there for a purpose,no other reason,just like wheel nuts
