"Coelenterata" is another word for "Jellyfish". I filmed this at the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut. The music is an original piece recorded by me.
Ooh, it's been a while since I've seen Coelenterata!! It's basically an outdated term that combined the phylum Cnidaria (Corals, jellies, hydras, etc) and phylum Ctenophora (Comb jellies). In theory, it can refer to jellyfish (though the term does not include salps for those who care about those) BUT. Apparently it's informally used to refer to both phyla at the same time, hehe. I personally don't believe in Jellyfish fundamentalism- Class Schyphzoa of Phylum Cnidaria is not the end all be all of jellyfish (it does not include box jellies or hydrozoan jellies), nor do I think that jellyfish stop at Coelenterata. A jellyfish is whatever you want to make it :)
Cheer~~~an aquatic invertebrate animal of a phylum that includes jellyfishes, corals, and sea anemones. They are distinguished by having a tube- or cup-shaped body and a single opening ringed with tentacles.😊
