The work is the easy part. Listening to customers say the same thing you've heard a million times is tough. Just stand back and watch, don't talk or ask questions. We're the best at what we do for a reason. Good job Pete. I sure hope he watered correctly.
Good thing Pete has Jesus behind him as some others may have lost their patience /cool pretty fast with being interrupted and told what he missed a few times!
I consider that because the customer is PAYing me it's not annoying to hear the same questions, it's part of the job.

Love the videos like this. Just great.
Spray the roller with graphite . I use it under my mowers and blades and dirt and grass will not stick to it. If it does spray it with the hose it will come off easier.

They have a beautiful place there! I often wonder what field of work the owners are in, when I see properties like that. That Ventrac is an amazing machine! Probably had an amazing price tag, as well. Well worth it though, for your business.

Wish i had a well that was capable supply water to my 1.3 acres so i could reno my lawn. I only get 10-12 GPM.
Gj as always brother pete. Ive been doing 1.2 acres by hand for the past 2 years. 5000sq ft at a time. Kind of like your test plots. Every spot is a different brand and manufacturer.I have a special sunny spot just for your seed this coming fall! Just need my carbonx!!!!! Jk..but for real..but jk but no for real
How do you quote a job that big? How many trips between kill off, seed, and check up on watering did it take, and what does the yard look like now?
Probably based on a rate per square footage, plus a little extra for unforeseen circumstances.
Pete I'm a hardscaper from Central Indiana and have to repair our access paths to the site and sometimes they get pretty messed up with all the equipment. Did you put anything on this to combat erosion and for water retention? Great work by the way and I love to see other fellows rocking a one man band on a job site!!! Way to get it done boss. I have a small company grossing around 50 a year and would like to get your input on diversifying services. I've been doing this 5 years and have mostly been focusing on weekly mowing and landscape maintenance. I would like to get into more land management and landscaping type projects but I don't want to be spread to thin having too much equipment. This ventrac seems to an all around great machine to be put to use on almost any project. I like having machines that get used a lot and while I would really like an excavator, for me it would sit too much at this time to justify the cost. I see so many services I could start offering with just this one machine and all the attachments they offer.
You can always grow astroturf in the shade :)

I did my yard with a brillion seeder 10 years ago, little over an acre. Wish could have done cover. Just too big.
What was the attachment that gets towed behind the ventrac. Assuming that was the power take attachment. How come you didn't show it being used in the vid. I may have missed it though. Awesome vids. You da man Pete!
Hey Pete, Try and get your nutrition right. The contents of that cooler with Gatorade and Mountain Dew can be compared to weeds in the lawn. That stuff will lead to an early grave. Please take care...hydrate with water or tea, without that sugar free crap.

Have to say I have never hankered after living in the US. But seeing these properties does make me wish the UK was bigger! A house with a plot that size anywhere you would actually want to live here would cost in the millions.
What was the total cost of this size of project? Man I am wanting to buy a Ventrac asap!! Had to buy two commercial ztrs to get the mowing done. We are currently doing renovations the hard way, scalp, aerate, dethatch and then topdress with a Earth and Turf 100sp
Pete what is it you use to smooth the humps and bumps out in the yard and can the piece of equipment you use be rented? I have alot of humps and bumps that need to be smoothed down and reseeded but I can't find anything to smooth the dirt out besides using a dozer which is way more than needed...
Especially with erosion issues...
