Followed exactly what you did. My hair turned out awesome. And they said box dye was bad!!!! Pft. Thanks so much for the tutorial, my old blue hair was too difficult to keep up with :)
If you do this at home and your not a professional, just dont use a box dye. It fries your hair. And use a semi orange, it will cover better and less of a chemical process
Cerith Wyn my hair is currently a light green and grey from having blue and purple. If I went over it with light golden brown, is that enough orange tone?

Can I use a semi orange and a permanent brown or will it still go green after a while (I imagine the orange will fade out??)

I have semi-permanent arctic fox phantom green and aquamarine in my hair so I bought the same dye as you did (except a slightly different brown because my hair is darker) and I don't have bleach or anything and it's kind of bright too. But, I washed it with some anti-dandruff shampoo so I hope it works lollll I can't afford $200 at the salon.
Edit: I used the shade in the video of the red dye (it's like $3 btw) and then the same brand of Garnier in 40 dark chocolate. (Like $7) I didn't bleach my hair or anything, when I used the dandruff shampoo it basically just got rid of all the phantom green and left aquamarine. Btw I did both dyes in the same day since my interview is tomorrow lol. It turned weird after the red but looked pretty good. I put the brown on top of it and it was perfect. Now it just is a warm brown! I looked and looked and I can't see any green or blue but I literally just rinsed it today so it could do anything. But it looks really good rn and is much more affordable than the salon.

My hair was a sapphire blue for about 3 years. As we all know blue is the most difficult color to get put. I was shocked when I used Malibu DDL XL simply mixed with water, and all the blue was gone with 2 treatments and no hair damage.
So I bleached the front 2 pieces of my hair then dyed them blue, after I went to the salon bc I wanted to blue more purple but the woman literally put electric blue in my hair and I’ve been crying for hours bc I miss my brown hair

Bless you, you darling girl! Although I have a pixie, I was trying to figure out just how I was going to get this blue outta my hair. I didn’t want to wait for it to grow out and I want to grow my hair back out but want it to be my natural color which is kind of this neutral light/medium brown. Soooo, I bought an orangey auburn color and a medium brown color and I’m going to do the bleach bath tomorrow. The good thing is, if I screw it up or overprocess it, it’s just a couple months before it’s all brand new hair and then I can just grow it. My hair color is definitely my security blanket, as are my tattoos and stretched ears, but I’m kinda just ready to blend in for a bit and be “normal” PTA mom status for awhile. I grew up in Southern CA where it wasn’t as unusual, but here in the south where I moved a few months ago, I stick out like a sore thumb and I think it affects my confidence and thus friend making capabilities. Anyhow, sorry to emotionally vomit on you! Really just wanted to say thank you! ❤️
I absolutely understand! This whole year I've been relatively normal hair colored. It's the longest I've gone natural since I started coloring my hair:P So glad to help, let me know how it goes!
LinzMushel I ended up not doing a bleach bath first, couldn’t find the bright auburn so I did medium auburn before putting on the medium rich brown. My hair turned out deeper brown than what yours was, BUT it worked and my hair isn’t blue anymore so, yay! Thanks again!

Have you ever tried removing the color with bleach powder, clarifying shampoo and heat? There's a hair form/link where the lady goes more into detail about it but my hair was stained ugly blue greeny (and I'm not really sure how since I was only using silver dye???) at the bottom and no amount of washing, time or even a bleach bath took care of it but the powder/shampoo/heat mix did.
wolfsf2012 I know right!! He's such a big baby!! :P Still cant top that Bean belly though! Lol No I havent tried that. I normally just add in warm water to make it a little heated. Silver dyes do some weird ish man, I had some extensions left pink after one hahaha

2021 post quarantine trying to dye my purple hair brown for a job.... thanks for the infos. None of this really applies to me as I plan on using semi-permanent dye all around so I can go back to purple when the job is over, but it was fun to watch!
See I’ve always wanted to do fun colors but I’m a bit overweight right now and I feel like that would cause more people to look at me cause I would stick out more. So my hair is also a security blanket for me but I stick with more natural colors. I feel like I’m getting closer to being brave enough to do it but we’ll see lol.

I have light blue like yours was before. Could I do a permanent espresso brown right over it? I did the clarifying shampoo and released so much color. My hair was forest green/ dark teal.

I totally should've watched this video first. I thought that I could get away with dying right over my faded teal hair with a nice ash brown and it'd be covered. But alas, now I have a lovely shade of brown hair (especially at the top where hair has grown in) with streaks of green coming through where the teal was -_- ugh.

I’ve got green hair. And I’m going to the hair dresser to see if they can dye it a cool tone brown. I’m going to an expensive place because you get what you pay for. I would buy supermarket dye but it’s tested on animals and I don’t wanna pay for abuse. And this hair dresser has cruelty free vegan dye, so wish me luck it’s as simple as one dying process 👍🏼
Can you give a suggestion/support I had blue hair and I usually do my own, but went to a salon (never works for me) and my hair is turning green from the brown she did over the blue. What I wanted was auburn cause that my natural but she said I could only go dark and she almost wanted me to go black.

You can crush up vitamin C pills and mix the powder with head and shoulders shampoo and it will take out a lot of the color. Just scrub it through a few time and let it sit 30 minutes each time. It’s the least damaging way

I dyed my hair yesterday for no reason.. It was light brown.. I dyed it black and red! I’m so not happy with it because I’m pretty sure I’ll never get my natural colour back... I Haven’t watched the full video so idk if this will help me.. But I know that I’m not aloud to bleach since I’m 12 🤷♀️but yeah.. I’ve been crying all night cause my friends don’t like it.. It makes me feel bad about myself now.. My brother’s girlfriend is a professional hairdresser.. I’ve never met her before so I’m gonna be so embarrassed.. 😭

Okay so I didnt know you were suppose to dye blue/green hair red/orange and so I used a colour stripper, then I had brown roots, horrible blonde then still green underneath. Then I dyed it brown. Now my hair is mostly brown with green definitely still in it. Do I strip it again, dye it all orange or red and then brown? Or skip the stripping and just put another brown on top or should I go red then brown??? 🙉🙉🙉🙉

Hi, I think it works well, cause the cooper cancells the blue (technically) depends on how long a person does a certain fantasy colour it may take 1 or 2 takes to get it all even, but with good treatment to nurture the hair should work well. As you showed. (I was looking for ideas like what you showed, thank you)🫶🧡

The red should cancel out the green, yes. I would go to a Sally's Beauty supply or similar and ask them for help. They may have a red filler that will help, I am not certain.
