    I want to say, that real attack will be brutal and agressive so keep in mind that not every technique will work. In my opinion best thing to do is counter-block the attacking hand, and then attack right away. Important is to keep the knife away from you. Wing-chun blocking is perfect for this. Nice videos and thank you.

    Another great video. I like what you said about psykological step is large and I agree. Can you show how to overcome fear and anxiety triggers towards the knife and other threats to stay calm and relaxed?
    Thank you so much for your work here.

      Curious Brain breathing is the answer. Use your breath to control your fear, feel where your tension is when you're training and make a concerted effort to release that tension. The less tense you are in any situation especially when faced with a knife the easier it will be to work freely and the less likely you are to sustain bad cuts. But on the other hand, be honest with yourself and know that you probably will get cut but do not fear it.

    • @transitioncrt2526
      @transitioncrt2526  6 років тому +10

      Besides breathing to help you relax in stress full situations it is also very important to get acquainted with these situation. Know the knife and the dangers of it. The more realistic you train by for example using a real knife, do exercises where you simulate psychological obstructions with the knife (like lay on the ground and let someone drop the knife next to your head). This way you get used to the stress these situations create.
      IMPORTANT: These exercises have to be coordinated by a expert instructor and always have to with done with absolute caution. Never create a unsafe training environment! especially while working with weapons.

      You never try to disarm lock or grab if you didn't dazed your opponent first. So now don't tell me that if you're dazed and distracted it won't be easy to follow up. And you will be in perfect condition :D

    • @ceckolalovia
      @ceckolalovia 4 роки тому +2

      Not really. One or two punches always create an opening to disarm or lock the guy. But you can't do that in training. Cause the training will be very short.

    • @MrPlushair
      @MrPlushair 4 роки тому

      @@ceckolalovia You are right, but I didn't see any punches. There is one basic mistake in systema. Always concentrate to the weapon, not the effective counter attack. I think, Krav maga is using more effective disarming system.

    • @pedrorosa5076
      @pedrorosa5076 4 роки тому

      imo these are very good exercises for one to start practicing the confrontation against this sort of weapon. now if we go into detailed life threatning situations, one always has to count on the element of surprise, especially coming from the other side. I agree that a person holding a knife will try to hit you as fast as possible and as many times as possible. you option should be consider, as said below, opportunities where you may have an opening to strike the attacker in such a way that will allow you to disarm them or at least make them lose the will to fight (physical pain can help with that), but for any of that you gotta have as much knowledge and practice as possible, and even then you may be unprepared, regardless of what form or system you practice with. remember that everyone is unique but we all have many factors in common. use all of them properly when and if necessary, and foremost, avoid confrontation for whatever reason it would be

    • @sirseigan
      @sirseigan 4 роки тому

      You are putting the horse before the cart. This is training and as such you have three steps:
      1) learn the basic chain of proper movements step by step.
      2) Automation trough repetition.
      3) Adaptations.
      You want to jump to step three directly when this is showing the beginning of step 1 only.
      Of course one would in a real life situation disrupt the attack first, then position yourself favorably in the space of time you created with the interruption and then attack the shit out of the adversary before they have fully recovered and you would continue with various attacks until the threat is neutralized completely or his buddies steps in and you need to disengage.
      Thant could mean that after the disruptions and positioning attacks with punches, kicks, elbows, knees, headbutts etc would rain down until the balance of the adversary is compromised and then do a take down (joint lock, choke, sweep or throw) and then a finish with a knee, kick or similar aiming to break something to neutralize (not getting tangling up in a advanced control grip as one would be in a severe disadvantage if a buddy of his or two steps in). But you do not train all that in step 1, you do that in step 3; hence you will not see that in basic training.
