- What do all those little lines mean anyway? A closeup look at the markings of a standard U.S. tape measure. Inch lines, 1/2" 1/4" 1/8" and 1/16" lines are explained.
Also an answer to that burning question: "why is the hook on the end of my tape measure loose?"

wow I was a dumb ass in school but now that I'm older I like to learn. great Video man!
This is a great, patient video. Could you explain in a video how to read and write mixed measurements such as 6' 3 5/8"? I imagine that kind of measurement would be intimidating for the uninitiated :). Thanks!
Awesome explanation thank you so much 👍👍👍
Thank-you for ur definition.
Great question. Here's an answer from wikipedia: "Some tapes sold in the United States have additional marks in the shape of small black diamonds, which appear every 19.2 inches (49 cm). These are known as "lizard piss" markings, and are used to mark out equal truss lengths for roofing materials (five trusses per standard 8-foot (2.4 m) length of building material)."
I like the end of your video, I thought my tape was broke at the end so I bought another one to find out they're all loose. Thanks
Thank you sooooo much
