Throughout her songs she justifies the relationship with Joe has gone sour. Then she realizes her journey needs to move forward. Then she becomes angry with herself that she was played. OUCH! Never ever will it happen to her again. Shes become wiser, stronger , and confident with herself to make better decisions and never f…. up again. Taylor now is happy, I mean really happy!
August under acceptance makes sense to me because the character has accepted that James was never hers when looking at their relationship or situationship in hindsight.

I know exactly what it feels like to be delusional and ignoring red flags. It ended with divorce. Also, I've always thought Tolerate It was really about Joe, and he was "older and wiser than her" metaphorically because she had idolozed him for so long.
For real my divorce took a whole year and we were still "together" even after the divorce for a little bit so can only imagine how that works not being married no official dates but yeah my break up took 3-4 years and all the terrible feelings were prior to that so couple years before too.. idk that's how it went for me
Just because she, in hindsight, realized that her personal feelings when writing these songs were clouded does not negate the feelings fans have had listening to them.

The one thing for me is... you do NOT have to connect every damn song on these playlists to her love life. Or like Joe vs travis. She's saying when she wrote this song, she was feeling that. It could be referring to a whole another relationship, or it could be referring to other aspects of her life entirely...

A love affair doesn't become a delusion just because it ends. The feeling expressed in Lover are still the same, and still as powerful and expressive, even if the relationship doesn't last forever. You may want it to be for always, but its ending is just more life and emotion to process. You're not a fool for hoping and trying for what you want, or a failure for admitting what you wished did not come true.
I have always thought the Lover album as a whole was full of red flags of what she was experiencing and maybe a little cognitive dissonance going on. Her promotions are so careful and curated and I think since Folklore, she’s starting to realize we as her fans WANT the dirt, the grime, the anxiety, the hope, the good the bad and the ugly in her so gs because we go through it too! (and truly, the fan reaction to All Too Well should’ve let her know this!)
In the long run, Alwyn and Taylor were not suited for each other. He only wanted to live a very private life which meant for Taylor that the two being out together would invite paparazzi that Alwyn wanted no part of. Plus, they broke up way before her Eras tour began and she which is her own business did not go public with. For some reason, Taylor thought Alwyn was smarter and better than her. He did show her all his favorite songs which are very sad songs and she said to Lowe the songs then became her favorite songs as well as the authors of those songs. Same with poetry.

I wonder how a person might feel when they know that their partner has written so many love songs about them and for them and now that it´s over and they found someone else they´re rewriting them in their head and dedicating them to someone else.
I don´t think Joe cares one bit, because he never cared about her music in a first place but if I was in his place I can´t imagine how i would feel if i knew so many love songs that were once dedicated to me now belong to someone else, no matter how it ended between us. But i´m happy for Taylor for being able to dedicate these songs to someone else like Travis now and feel good when performing them.
Joe has already made millions from streaming on the songs he contributed to, so I don't think he cares. I forgot where I saw the amount, but it was a reputable place.
I don't think you make much money from streaming songs. Also, the songs about Alwyn are not for Travis now. That would be ridiculous. Taylor has written a song to Travis on his birthday which was in October but she gave it to him and it stays private. Perhaps she will record it for the public but perhaps not.

I’m so surprised that forever winter is on the depression playlist. I’ve always seen that as more of a bargaining song!
I mean no disrespect to anyone, but I must be real for a second. I doubt Joe had much input in any of these songs, perhaps a word or two, or phrase, perhaps, but he barely expresses anything about his work or himself in interviews. I think Taylor was trying to make him feel a part of her work, asked him to throw in a word or two, or gave him credit for just being her inspiration. Whatever Joe's participation was, or wasn't, it still wasn't enough to meet the minimum eligibility requirements to be considered for a possible Grammy nod. So, she had to let him produce, and co-produce a number of the tracks as well, just enough to meet the minimum participation criteria to be included in any potential Grammy nominations...which seemingly led to the recording academy's curiously timed revision of the minimum eligibility criteria requirements to be implemented for the following year award ceremony. Had these revisions been applicable the previous year, Joe's participation would not have been sufficient to qualify for nomination consideration. Was the academy's timing merely a coincidence, or a reflection of their feelings of Joe winning a Grammy for AOTY, when so many other talented, iconic artists have labored tirelessly for decades creating wonderful music for decades, and have yet to ever won AOTY, or in many cases never even had a Grammy nomination, let alone a win. I think the situation may have ruffles some feathers across the industry. I have no idea what goes into producing songs, but considering the big ado made about successful record producers, who are often celebrated as much, or more than the artists themselves, leads me to conclude that it must take some skills & talent to do, otherwise artists would just produce all their own songs, making these famous & iconic record producers obsolete. If Joe can just "wing it" one day, without any prior interest or experience, perhaps producing records requires no more skill, talent, or expertise than it takes to use a computer, iphone, or remote control. If this is true, why are these record producers often idolized? I have no idea why I felt the need to go on this rant, and I am not hating on Joe, just baffled by his inability to speak of his girlfriend for over 6 years, not even to name one song of hers that he likes (not even one he co-wrote or produced), all seems a bit odd, to say the least.
I think he was/is just a normal, shy person. Even though he had done 2 very small movies nobody noticed him. He is probably more comfortable now that he has done more work. He still isn't completely comfortable though. I have wondered how much Joe contributed on her songs also. I remember her saying he was playing the piano and she used that was the chorus or melody. I remember her telling the guy from Apple Music that her and Joe can only write sad songs. She looked kinda uncomfortable saying it. The only song I remember off hand that he is credited on is Champagne Problems. I have always looked at that song like they could have written some of it together. I have always felt like it was Taylor giving him a hint about marriage but switching it up so she is too blame why they aren't. Her doubting herself and wondering why she isn't enough.😢
Taylor said on her interview with Lowe that Alwyn wrote the melodies on the piano and wrote verses on the songs that they did together. Even Antonoff said Alwyn made up the melodies that Taylor and Joe decided to write songs to. I am not an Alwyn fan but he should get credit where it is due. Yes, he didn't care for her songs when they met and still probably doesn't but Taylor and Joe did write songs together and Alwyn wrote the melodies.
He was cheating was he caught cheating.... On his wirk stuff so it happened for a long time and she had to process so of course hell string her a long. How they do... Thats why took so long
