Thanks for posting this ! Royce is my dad and would be touched by all the nice comments. We miss him every day, but great rockabilly and country fans keep his music and memory alive.
RIP to your father. This music is gonna live forever. Although I've got a question, maybe it's only me but I think your father's voice sounds kinda like Elvis. Can you explain why? Was it on purpose? Also I'm not an expert at 50s music so maybe I'm wrong.
@@vtecpower5336 Everyone the hears "Yes I Do" says that. I'm guessing that back in the 50's, a lot of aspiring artists were inspired by the Elvis sound and style. Same with the Beatles in the 60s. That, plus the fact that dad just naturally sounded a little like Elvis back then, likely resulted the the similarity. I'm sure record producers encouraged the "Elvis sound" at the time as well. But, even singing country songs he wrote decades later, he had a touch of that in his voice. Thanks for the interest !
@@randyporter3491 thanks for answer! That's so interesting, jeez can't believe it's been more than 60 years! I also heard that Elvis borrowed his sound from various artists, so I think it was just the time in music with that "Elvis" sound.
Royce Porter. I have to say that this is the first time that I've heard of this gentleman. But all the same, he was obviously a terrific Rockabilly singer !!!!
Solid stuff. An April Fool's Birthday twin for me, and the same age as my late dad. As good as any, and better than lots, recorded at the same time. Thanks!
